The OPSC OAS Prelims Exam Dates have been made public on the official website of the Odisha Public Service Commission. From January 10 through February 18, 2022, the OPSC OAS recruitment online application link was open.
The OPSC civil services exam pattern and syllabus are fairly similar to those of the regular government examinations. To properly prepare for the exams, students must be well aware with the OPSC Civil Services test syllabus. The OPSC Civil Services exam has three phases. The preliminary examination is the first stage that the candidate must pass. The mains exam is the second step. The third and final part of the OPSC OAS exam pattern is the Personality Test, which is scheduled for the candidate who passed the main test.

OPSC OAS Syllabus 2022: Exam Pattern
The OPSC Civil Service exam pattern is divided into three exams: preliminary exam, main exam, and personality test/interview.
Preliminary Exam Pattern
- A screening test with multiple-choice questions is called Prelims.
- The exam will be broken up into two 2-hour papers (Paper 1 & Paper 2).
- Candidates must achieve a qualifying score of more than 33% on Paper 2 in order to take the Main Exam.
- A quarter of the total score will be removed for each incorrect answer.

Mains Exam Pattern
After the candidate has cleared their preliminary examination, they are called in for the Main exam. OPSC OAS Main Exam is further divided into 2 parts i.e the Compulsory Subject and the Optional Papers.
- The main test consists of nine exam sets and is essay-based.
- There are 4 optional subjects and 5 required papers.
- Both Papers 1 and 2 will be qualifying exams for the 10th grade.
- Each paper has three hours.
- There are no negative grades.
Note: The candidate can choose a total of two subjects from the list of alternatives provided by the commission for the optional Subject paper in the main exam of the OPSC OAS Recruitment. Each subject will have two 300-point exams. Interview Exam Pattern
The candidate is called in by the commission for a personality test after passing the main examination for the OPSC Civil Services recruiting. The interview carries 250 points.
To be hired by the OPSC Civil Services, a candidate must pass all of the exams with the cutoff marks established by the commission.

OPSC Civil Services Mains Syllabus
- The Mains Exam is the second test in the series.
- The Mains is a traditional exam in that there will be essay questions on the paper.
- Each paper lasts three hours.
- The primary examination consists of five mandatory papers worth a combined 1400 points.
- 4 optional subject papers totaling 1200 marks are available.
- The main exam’s Papers 1 and 2 are qualifying in nature and will be at the level of the 10th grade.
