Tamil Nadu PSC Nationality Eligibility

To be eligible for any TNPSC exam, a candidate must be one of the following:

• A citizen of India, or
• A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, or East African countries such as Kenya, Uganda, and Zambia with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
• A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanent settlement

TNPSC Eligibility Criteria 2026 – Age Limit — Group-wise Details

Age is almost always calculated as on 1st July of the recruitment year. TNPSC does not use a single uniform age band — each Group and often each post has its own minimum and maximum age.

Group 1 (Combined Civil Services Examination – I)

The base age limit for Others (General/non-reserved) candidates is 21–34 years. The minimum age required is 21 years as of July 1 of the recruitment year for all posts.
