Job Profile
Some of the duties and responsibilities under RBI Grade B are;
- Designing Guidelines for Public Sector Banks.
- Managing Certain Government and Central Bank Accounts
- Making Sure that the Circulation of Coins and Currencies goes Smoothly and Functions Properly.
- Assisting RBI in the Role of Being the Banker to all Banks of the Country.
To recruit the Grade B Officer, the Reserve Bank of India releases a recruitment notification every year. Below, we have mentioned about Vacancies, Eligibility Criteria, Exam Pattern and Selection Criteria.
Vacancies
As per the year 2019 RBI Grade B had released 116 vacancies for the post of RBI Grade B Officer.
Eligibility Criteria
Any Graduate who has passed his degree with at least 60% Marks (General/OBC) or 50% Marks (ST/SC/PWD) are eligible for this exam. Along with this he/she should have age between 21-30 years (as on 01st September 2019).
Age Relaxation Criteria is valid only for reserved categories and PWD Candidates of all categories.

Candidates from General category cannot appear in RBI Grade B Officer Exam for more than 6 times. However, candidates from SC/ST/OBC/PWD do not have such limitation to appear in the RBI Jobs Exam.

Selection Criteria
The candidates who have cleared the Prelims and Mains exam have to go through the most difficult round i.e Interview Round.
Salary Pay-Scale
In RBI, a good salary is not the only perk you will be enjoying. With a Basic salary of INR 35,150 per month and a gross salary of around INR 67,000 per month, RBI offers many more benefits to its employees such as Residence Allowance, Medical Allowance, Travel Allowance etc.

The job role of a RBI Assistant Officer is slightly different than RBI Grade B. The prime responsibilities are given below;

Vacancies
In the Year 2019 RBI Grade B had released a total of 926 vacancies for RBI Assistant Post.
Eligibility Criteria
The Graduates who have completed their degree with at least 50% Marks (General/OBC) (pass class fo ST/SC/PWD candidates) in the aggregate and the knowledge of word processing on PC are eligible for this exam. Selection Criteria
A candidate needs to qualify the Prelims and Mains exam, and the final judgement is made based on the Interview scores.
Salary Pay-Scale
The basic salary of an Assistant in the Reserve Bank of India is INR 8040 per month which is less as compared to the grade pay of Grade B Officer.The gross salary is about INR 24,500 per month for the Assistant post. Along with these salary benefits, the banking authorities also provide the benefits of Residence Allowance, Medical Allowance, Travel Allowance etc.
Promotions and Career Growth
After completing 10 years as RBI Assistant, the employee will get promoted to Special Assistant after which they will be eligible for the Senior Assistant post.
After completing 5 years successfully, an Assistant will be eligible to fight the Departmental Examination for promotion through which he can be promoted to Grade-A Officer or Assistant Manager.
