Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation Limited (GMRCL) has released notification inviting young, dynamic and motivated people of Indian nationality to apply for certain non operative posts for operations and maintenance on direct recruitment basis for five years. GMRCL which is jointly owned by the Government of India and the Government of Gujarat is entrusted with the responsibility of implementation of Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project Phase-I, Phase-II & Surat and their Operations
& Maintenance.
GMRC Recruitment 2021
Recruitment process in Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation Limited is fully computerized and the selection is purely based on the merit of the candidate. GMRC will conduct the exam in the month of February 2022. Those who qualify in the written exam will be called for Gujarati Language Test. Note: candidates appearing for final year exams of diploma / degree / ITI can also apply for the suitable
posts for which they fulfill minimum qualification. Such candidates will be admitted to the
examination and has to produce the original marksheet at the time of verification, failing which
they will be disqualified.
GMRC Recruitment 2021 Apply Online

- Select the post which you would like to apply for.
- Click on the ‘Apply Now’ button.
- Fill all the required fields.
- Online submission of GMRC application form
- Online payment of fees
- Scan and upload relevant documents / certificates, photograph and signature.
- Submit the application and take a print out for future reference.
- Candidates should have a valid personal email ID and mobile no. which should be kept active till the completion of the recruitment process.
Application fee is as follows:
- General candidates : Rs 600
- SEBC / OBC : Rs 300
- SC / ST : Rs 150
Remittance can be made only through Net banking, Debit cards ( RUPAY / VISA/ MASTERCARD / MAESTRO / UPI), credit cards or internet banking.
NOTE : Application fee including bank transaction charges once paid will not be refunded under any
circumstances. Candidates should therefore verify their eligibility, the closing date for
submission of application before paying the application fee plus bank transaction charges.
Selection Process
The exam will be a paper based test for those who meet all the above mentioned criteria.
- Written Test : 100 marks
- Gujarati Language test : 20 marks
Securing minimum score (General category candidates 60 percent marks and for reservation
category (SC/ST / OBC) candidates 50 percent marks) in the test of Gujarati language shall only be
considered for selection. The marks in Gujarati language will not be considered for merit listing.
Exam Pattern for Recruitment to GMRC
For Station Controller / Train Operator (SC / TO), Customer Relations Assistant (CRA) & Junior Engineer :
- Duration of the test will be 120 minutes (2 hours) for all parts together.
- The test will consist of Gujarati language (20 questions), Logical ability & Reasoning (20 questions)
and Quantitative aptitude (20 questions), General English (20 questions) and Technical Knowledge
(40 questions).
For Maintainers (MTNR) :
- Duration of the test will be 120 minutes.
- The test will consist of 100 questions.
- Technical Knowledge (40 questions), Gujarati language (20 questions), Logical ability & Reasoning
(15 questions), Quantitative aptitude (10 questions) and General English (15 questions).
There will be penalty for wrong answers in the objective tests. For every wrong answer, one fourth of the mark assigned to the question will be deducted. There will be no penalty for unanswered questions.

Cut Off Mark
Each test/part/section will have a minimum passing/cutoff score as well as on the total score as decided by GMRC.
Criteria for Qualifying
Marks obtained in the test will be considered for shortlisting the candidates for further selection process. Depending upon the number of vacancies, only those candidates who rank sufficiently high in the
test will be called for medical test. Candidates shortlisted further for SC/TO posts after medical test will have to undergo additional psychometric test. . The list of candidates shortlisted for further selection will be made available on GMRC’s official website.
