Institute of Banking Personnel Selection(IBPS) has released the notification of IBPS clerk 2019(CRP CLERKS-IX for Vacancies of 2020-21). The online application procedure has been commenced from 17 September 2019. Those who have been completed the application procedure will be in a hurry to start the preparations. IBPS Clerk Exam Pattern for Prelims 2019
IBPS selects candidates for clerical cadre through Prelims and Mains examinations. Many candidates doubt that there is an interview phase for the clerk exam. However, there is no interview conducted, only Prelims and Mains. The preliminary exam has nothing to do with the selection of candidates, it is merely a straining procedure for candidates. Preliminary exam is an online computer-based test with a duration of one hour.

Preliminary Exam consists of three subjects: Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Aptitude, and English Language.

Candidate has to get sectional cut-off and total cut-off to qualify the Prelims. There is a penalty for each wrong answer. 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

1: What does the acronym "ATM" stand for in banking?
Those who have qualified prelims will be able to attend the mains exam. It is also an online computer-based test. Mains exam consists of a composite of 190 questions from five subjects, to be completed within 160 minutes. Each section is separately timed-out.

Candidates have to attempt each section for the allotted time durations. That is, you can’t leave the section before the section expires. For mains also there is negative marking,0.25 marks for each wrong answer. So, in both phases, it is better to leave the question, if you are not sure about or unaware of answer.
Mains exam result is considered for the final selection into the merit list, published by IBPS. So, marks in mains will be deciding your status for clerk cadre.

For the mains exam along with all these, there will be General or Financial Awareness and Computer Aptitude. Computer Aptitude section is merged with Reasoning ability.
