Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has released the Round 2 seat allotment result at 5 PM on 28th September, 2022. The allotment is based on the choices filled in by candidates during registration. Registered candidates can check the JOSAA seat allotment result at the official website josaa.nic.in. Based on the seat allotment, the online reporting, fee payment, document upload and response by the candidate to the query will be done between 28th September and 1st October, 2022. Failure to pay the seat acceptance fee by the deadline will lead to cancellation of the provisionally allotted seat and the candidate will not be considered for the seat allocation in the subsequent rounds.
In case the candidates want to withdraw seat and exit from the seat allocation process, they can do so from 29th September to 1st October, 2022 while the query response withdrawal can be done between 29th September to 2nd October, 2022.
JoSAA 2022 seat allocation list is prepared based on choice filled by the candidates for the course and college, ranks of the candidate and availability of seats. Candidates who have been allotted seats during the second round of JoSAA seat allotment 2022 will have to choose the options from Freeze, Float or Slide. If a candidate is satisfied with the allotted seat he/ she will be required to select the freeze option or they can opt either Float or Slide option if they are looking for other better options.
There will be a total of 6 counselling rounds. JoSAA round 3, 4, 5, and 6 (final) seat allotment result will be declared on 3rd, 8th,12th and 16th October, 2022 respectively. CSAB counselling will commence after the sixth round.
The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2022 has been set up by the Ministry of Education to manage and regulate the joint seat allocation for admissions to 114 institutes for the academic year 2022-23. This includes 23 IITs, 31 NITs, IIEST Shibpur, 26 IIITs and 33 Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs). Admission to all the academic programs offered by these Institutes will be made through a single platform.

Steps to Check JoSAA Round 2 Result
- Visit the official website – josaa.nic.in.
- Go to the ‘View Seat Allotment Result Round 2’ link.
- Login using JEE(Main) Application Number, Password and security pin.
- The JOSAA round 1 seat allotment result will appear on the screen.
- Download and check.
- Candidates must take a printout of the final locked choices for submission during reporting.
- For security reasons, candidates are advised to click the LOGOUT button and close all the windows related to their session after finishing their work.

JoSSA Seat Allotment Options
Candidates who are offered a seat are required to select one of the following options – Freeze, Float or Slide.
Freeze: Choosing the option “Freeze” means that the candidate accepts the offered seat and does not want to participate in the further rounds.
Float: Choosing the option “Float” means that the candidate accepts the offered seat, however is open for higher preference in any institute in further rounds.
Slide: Choosing the option “Slide” means that the candidate accepts the offered seat, however, will accept a seat if admission to an academic program of higher preference is offered within the same Institute in subsequent rounds of seat allocation.
