Kerala PSC Beat Forest Officer 2025 Selection Process
The recruitment for Beat Forest Officer is conducted in several stages to ensure only the most suitable candidates are selected.
- Written Exam – Candidates must first qualify in a Written/OMR/Online test.
- Physical Standards Check – Height and chest measurements will be verified as per rules.
- Physical Efficiency & Endurance Tests – Applicants must clear the required events and 2 km run within the prescribed time.
- Medical Examination – Vision, hearing, and general health will be tested; candidates with disqualifying conditions will not be considered.
- Document Verification – Original certificates for age, qualification, category, and medical fitness must be produced.
- Rank List & Appointment – District-wise ranked lists will be published, valid for 1–3 years. Candidates will be appointed based on vacancies reported during this period.
District Rule:
Selection is made on a revenue district basis. Candidates appointed in one district cannot transfer to another until completing 5 years of continuous service, and even then transfers are subject to government rules.
Kerala PSC BFO Eligibility Criteria 2025
Candidates applying for the Beat Forest Officer post must be 19–30 years old (born between 02.01.1995 and 01.01.2006), with age relaxations for OBC/SC/ST as per rules, up to a maximum of 50 years.
The minimum qualification required is a Plus Two pass or equivalent recognized by the Government. Selection will be made through direct district-wise recruitment.

Applicants must clear fitness tests and medical checks as per Kerala PSC rules to be eligible for Beat Forest Officer 2025.

- Male Candidates: Minimum height 168 cm; chest 81 cm with 5 cm expansion. For SC/ST, height 160 cm.

3. Endurance Test
- Male: Run 2 km in 13 minutes.
- Female: Run 2 km in 15 minutes.
4. Medical Standards
- Candidates must have normal hearing, perfect eyesight without glasses (6/6 vision in both eyes), normal colour vision, and no night blindness.
- Should be free from physical deformities like knock-knee, flat foot, varicose veins, defective speech/hearing, or any nervous disorders.
- A medical certificate from a government doctor (not below Assistant Surgeon rank) must be produced.
5. Training & Probation
- Selected candidates must undergo 1 year of training in a Forest Training School. Those who fail will be discharged.
- Appointees will be on probation for 2 years within a continuous service of 3 years.
6. Additional Benefits
- Candidates with NCC certificates (A, B, C) will get 2%, 3%, and 5% weightage marks respectively.
- Student Police Cadet (SPC) certificate holders will also receive weightage marks as per government rules.
