Kerala PSC HSA Social Science 2025 – Who Can Apply?
If you’re aiming to become a High School Teacher (Social Science) in Kerala Government Service, here’s what you need to know before applying:
Age Limit
- You must be 18 to 40 years old as of 01.01.2025.
- That means your date of birth should fall between 02.01.1985 and 01.01.2007.
- Relaxations apply for SC/ST and OBC candidates, but the maximum age can’t exceed 50 years.
Educational Qualifications
- A degree in the concerned subject (History, Geography, Economics, Politics, Philosophy, Sociology, Commerce*, or Music*) from a recognized university in Kerala.
- A B.Ed./B.T. in the concerned subject.
- Note: Commerce and Music graduates are eligible only if they earned their B.Ed. before 21.09.2022.
K-TET Requirement

You must have passed K-TET Category III, unless you’re exempt.
Exemptions from K-TET
Candidates are exempt from K-TET if they hold any of these:
- C-TET (excluding Primary/Elementary levels)
- NET / SET / M.Phil. / Ph.D. / M.Ed.
Accepted Equivalent Qualifications
- Integrated B.A. Ed. in Social Studies from Regional Institute of Education (Mysore).
- Diploma in Rural Service from the National Council for Rural Higher Education.
- Specific combinations in Islamic History with B.Ed. (History or Social Studies) as recognized by Kerala Government Orders.
Exam Language
If a written test is held, it will be in Malayalam, and answers must be written in Malayalam as well.
Important Notes
- Equivalent qualifications must be declared valid by Kerala PSC through official orders.
- Postgraduates with a B.Ed./B.T. in the concerned subject are also eligible.
