Punjab National Bank (PNB) has officially released the Apprentice Recruitment Notification 2025–26 under the Apprentices Act, 1961 for engagement of 5138 apprentices across various states and Union Territories in India.

The apprenticeship program is for one year, which includes classroom training and on-the-job exposure at PNB branches. Selected apprentices will receive a monthly stipend of up to ₹15,000, depending on the branch category.

Candidates can apply online only through the BFSI Sector Skill Council of India (BFSI SSC) portal. The selection will be conducted through an online written examination, followed by document verification, a local language test, and medical examination.

PNB Apprentice Vacancy 2026

Punjab National Bank has announced a total of 5138 apprentice seats across India. Vacancies are distributed state-wise, circle-wise, and category-wise including SC, ST, OBC, EWS, UR, and PwBD categories.

Some key highlights:

• Highest number of vacancies are in Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Bihar, Punjab, Maharashtra, and Rajasthan
• Candidates can apply for only one State/UT
• Final allotment of branches/circles will be done by the bank.

PNB Apprentice 2026 Eligibility – Qualification & Details

Nationality / Citizenship

A candidate must be:

• A citizen of India, or
• A subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or
• A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962, or
• A person of Indian origin migrated from specified countries with intent to permanently settle in India

(Eligibility certificate from Government of India is required where applicable.)

Age Limit (As on 01.01.2026)

Candidates must be born between 02.01.1998 and 01.01.2006 (both dates inclusive).

Age Relaxation

Educational Qualification

• Graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university
• Graduation result must be declared on or before 31 December 2025
• For NATS candidates, graduation should not be older than 4 years from the cut-off date

Local Language Proficiency

Candidates must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the local language of the State/UT applied for.

• Language test will be conducted during document verification
• Candidates who studied the local language in 10th or 12th standard are exempted from the test (subject to proof)

Training Duration & Stipend

• Training period: 1 year (12 months)

• Includes 2 weeks of basic training and 50 weeks of on-the-job training

• No other allowances or benefits applicable

PNB Apprentice 2026 Selection Process

The selection process consists of the following stages:

1. Online Written Examination

3. Test of Local Language

4. Medical Examination

Final merit will be prepared state-wise and category-wise based on written exam marks.

The online examination will be objective in nature.

• Duration: 60 minutes

• Medium: English / Hindi

• Minimum aggregate marks required (5% relaxation for reserved categories)

Step-by-Step Application Process

Step 1: Register on BFSI SSC Portal (Main Application)

1. Visit www.bfsissc.com

2. Navigate to:
   Employment Opportunities → Apprenticeship Opportunities → Punjab National Bank

3. Click on PNB Apprenticeship Program 2025–26

4. Complete the online registration by entering:

   • Personal details

Step 4: Update Apprenticeship Details on BFSI SSC Portal

Step 5: Appear for Online Written Examination

• Candidates who have paid the exam fee will receive exam details through BFSI SSC

Final Step: Language Test, Document Verification & Medical Examination
