The senior managerial and technical posts (AGM, Deputy Manager, Unit Head, Accounts Officer, Assistant Secretary, Financial Advisor cum Company Secretary, Regional Sthapathi, and others) also require prescribed years of experience, from 1 year up to 20 years depending on the post. Experience must be gained after obtaining the required qualification.
Other Conditions
- Knowledge of Tamil: candidates must have adequate knowledge of Tamil (SSLC/HSC/degree with Tamil as a language, Tamil-medium schooling, or the TNPSC Second Class Language Test).
- Five-year service rule: candidates not belonging to the reserved communities who have completed 5 or more years of government service are not eligible, except for posts requiring experience.
- Regional Sthapathi: only candidates professing the Hindu religion can apply.
- Vision standards: several posts need prescribed vision standards, and certain posts (Senior Entomologist, Assistant Director of Textiles, Manager (Accounts)) require an eye fitness certificate to be uploaded at the time of application.

The TNPSC CTSE (Interview Posts) has two stages:
- Written examination (Computer Based Test)
- Interview
Before the interview, candidates go through onscreen certificate verification and physical certificate verification. Candidates are shortlisted for onscreen verification in the ratio of 1:3 / 1:4 for posts without experience and 1:10 for posts requiring experience. The final rank is decided by the combined marks of Paper I (Part B and Part C), Paper II and the Interview.

For Tamil Reporter and English Reporter
Paper I is the same. Paper II is Stenography in Tamil (subject code 383) or Stenography in English (subject code 378), Diploma standard, 100 questions, 1½ hours, 300 marks.
Marks that matter
- Paper II, Part B and Part C of Paper I are evaluated only if you score at least 40% (60 marks) in Part A (Tamil Eligibility Test).
- Minimum qualifying marks for Part B and Part C of Paper I (150 marks): 135 for SC, SC(A), ST, MBC/DC, BC(OBCM) and BCM; 180 for Others, as printed in the notification scheme table. Please cross-check against the official PDF.
- Differently abled candidates can claim exemption from Part A (Tamil Eligibility Test) while applying.
- Questions in Part B and Part C are set in English and Tamil.
- Appearing in Paper I, Paper II and the Interview is compulsory.

How to Apply for TNPSC CTSE Interview Posts 2026
- Visit the TNPSC application portal www.tnpscexams.in.
- Complete One Time Registration (OTR) if you have not already, or log in with your existing OTR.
- Select the Combined Technical Services Examination (Interview Posts) notification.
- Choose your post(s) and subject paper(s) carefully.
- Fill in your personal, educational and experience details.
- Upload the required documents (SSLC/HSC mark sheet for date of birth, degree certificates, experience certificate, community certificate, Tamil language proof, and any post-specific certificates).
- Pay the fee online, then submit and save a printout.
- If needed, edit details only during the correction window (10 to 12 October 2026).
You are solely responsible for the details you enter. Check the filled-in application before final submission.
Application Fee
- ₹200 examination fee, paid at the time of submitting the online application.
- ₹200 for each additional subject paper you opt for, with no refund if you later withdraw a paper.
- Fee exemptions and free chances are available to eligible special categories such as certain reserved and special groups. Check Annexure II of the notification for details.
- One Time Registration (OTR) on TNPSC is required first; it costs ₹150 and is valid for 5 years.
Payment is online through net banking, credit card, debit card or UPI.
