• The finance is managed by the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) according to rules and regulations stated in the ESI Act 1948.
• Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), declared by ESI Act, is an autonomous corporation under Ministry of Labor and Employment, Government of India.
• The corporation is a legal entity
• It can raise loans and take measures for discharging such loans with the former sanction of the central government
• The corporation can acquire both movable and immovable property and all incomes from the property will reside with the corporation.
•  The corporation can set up hospitals either independently or in conjunction with state government or other private entities, but most of the dispensaries and hospitals are run by concerned state governments.
• The employees enjoy six types of benefit namely, medical benefit, Sickness benefit, Maternity benefit, Disablement benefit, Dependents benefit, Other benefits
• The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) increased  the monthly wage limit to Rs. 21,000 from the existing Rs. 15,000, for coverage, which was in effect from 1 January 2017.
• The rate of contribution was reduced from 6.5% to 4%  which is , employer’s share 3.25 percent  and employee’s share 0.75 percent which is effective from 1 July 2019.

ESIC UDC Exam 2022-Exam Pattern

The ESIC UDC Exam Pattern comprises three stages. The events of the examination are prelims, mains, and computer skill tests before final selection. Phase I – Preliminary Examination

• The Preliminary Examination is qualifying in nature
• The marks secured by the candidate will not be considered for final merit.
• For each wrong response made by the candidate, there will be a negative marking of one-fourth of the mark assigned to that question.
• The participants will be shortlisted for Phase-II in the ratio of 1:10
• It means that candidates are selected about 10 times the number of vacancies in each category on the basis of their performance in Phase – I Preliminary Examination.
• The ESIC Prelims Exam is qualifying in nature.

Phase II – Mains Exam

• The marks obtained by the candidate  in Phase-II Main Examination will be considered for final selection.
• For each wrong response made by the candidate, there will be a negative marking of one-fourth of the mark assigned to that question.
• The participants will be shortlisted for Phase-III Computer Skill Test in the ratio of 1:5.
• It means that the candidates about 5 times the number of vacancies in each category are selected  on the basis of their performance in Phase-II Main Examination.
• The ESIC UDC mains exam is an objective type test.

Phase III – Computer Skill Test

• The working knowledge of computers in respect of PWD applicants who are unable to type shall be assessed by holding an Objective Type Computer Test of 50 Marks having 50 Questions.
• The candidates must note that there will be no negative marking.
• Computer Skill Test will be qualifying in nature.
• Marks obtained will  be considered for merit ranking.
