• 21–40 years
• Candidates born between 02.01.1985 and 01.01.2004, both dates included. Age relaxation applicable for SC/ST/OBC as per rules.

Qualifications:

• B.Tech Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from a UGC/AICTE recognized University/Institution
  OR
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from an AICTE recognized institution with 5 years’ experience in construction and maintenance of sea-going or inland vessels

Equivalent/higher qualifications recognized by Government or PSC are acceptable. Experience certificates must be uploaded in the prescribed format.

Category No. 541/2026 – Irrigation Department

• 20–40 years

• B.Sc. Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Kerala University or equivalent)

• Pass in Section A & B of the AMIE Examination in Mechanical Engineering

• Appointed candidates may be required to serve in Defence Services for a minimum period of 4 years (within the first 10 years of service), if required, as per Government rules.

Kerala PSC AE Mechanical Selection Process 2026 & Probation

The Kerala PSC Assistant Engineer Mechanical 2026 Selection process is conducted in the following stages:

1. Written Test
   Candidates who successfully apply will be called for an objective-type written examination conducted by Kerala PSC based on a specific syllabus. The test evaluates technical knowledge in Mechanical Engineering along with general subjects as prescribed in the syllabus.

2. Shortlisting
   Based on the performance in the written test, Kerala PSC will prepare a shortlist of candidates category-wise and reservation-wise.

4. Interview

During the probation period, the appointed candidate must pass the Account Test for Executive Officers of the Kerala State, if not already passed.

Probation:
