Kerala PSC LSGD Tracer Eligibility 2026 – Age Limit, Qualification & Rules
Candidates applying for Kerala PSC Tracer Recruitment 2026 (Category No. 633/2025) must meet the prescribed eligibility criteria related to age limit, educational qualifications, and government norms. The post in the Local Self Government Department (LSGD) is filled through Direct Recruitment.
Age Limit
The required age limit is 18 to 36 years. Only candidates born between 02 January 1989 and 01 January 2007 (both dates included) are eligible to apply.
- OBC and SC/ST candidates are eligible for usual age relaxation as per Kerala Government rules.
- However, the maximum upper age limit after all relaxations shall not exceed 50 years, as mentioned in the General Conditions of the Gazette Notification.
Educational Qualifications
Applicants must possess:
- SSLC or equivalent qualification
- Pass in Building Drawing and Estimating (Higher)

Kerala PSC LSGD Tracer Vacancy 2026 – District-Wise Posts & Ranked List Details
As per Kerala PSC Notification 633/2025, vacancies for the post of Tracer in the Local Self Government Department (LSGD) are announced on a district-wise basis. The available vacancies are:
- Thrissur – 02 Posts
- Wayanad – 01 Post
Candidates must apply online for only one district where vacancies are reported. Multiple applications to more than one district under this notification are strictly prohibited and may lead to removal from the ranked list and disciplinary action.
Separate Ranked List & Validity Period
Kerala PSC will prepare separate ranked lists for each revenue district. The ranked list will remain valid for a minimum of one year and may continue until a new ranked list is published or up to three years, whichever is earlier.
Candidates will be advised not only against the notified vacancies but also against future vacancies reported during the validity period. If no candidate is advised within three years, the ranked list may be extended for one more year or until at least one candidate is appointed.
Revenue District Selection & Transfer Rules
Selection will be conducted on a revenue district basis as per GO(MS) No. 154/71/PD dated 27.05.1971. A candidate appointed in one district cannot request transfer to another district until completing five years of continuous service. Even after five years, transfers will be subject to GO(P) No. 36/91/P&ARD dated 02.12.1991. Candidates already serving as Tracer in any district under Government service are not eligible to apply again for the same post.
Reservation for Differently Abled Candidates
As per G.O (P) No. 05/2023/SJD dated 01.10.2023, 4% of the total vacancies are reserved for eligible differently abled candidates in accordance with Kerala Government reservation rules.
Kerala PSC Tracer Recruitment 2026 – Selection Process
The Kerala PSC LSGD Tracer Selection Process 2026 will be conducted by the Kerala Public Service Commission as per Notification No. 633/2025. Selection for the Tracer post under the Local Self Government Department (LSGD) involves the following stages:
Written Test / OMR / Online Exam
If conducted, candidates must appear for a Written, OMR, or Online Examination. The test will be objective in nature and based on the prescribed syllabus, including relevant technical subjects such as Building Drawing, Surveying, and Estimating along with general topics. Candidates must submit exam confirmation through their One Time Registration (OTR) profile within the specified period. Only those who confirm can download the Admission Ticket (available 15 days before the exam). Applications of candidates who fail to confirm will be rejected.
District-Wise Ranked List
Based on exam performance, Kerala PSC will prepare separate ranked lists for each district. The ranked list will remain valid for a minimum of one year and may continue up to three years or until a new list is published, whichever is earlier. Candidates will be advised for appointment against notified and future vacancies during the list’s validity.
Document Verification & Final Appointment
Candidates included in the ranked list must produce original documents for age, qualification, community, and other claims. Any discrepancy must be supported by valid certificates or Gazette Notification. Final appointment will be made based on rank, verification of documents, and availability of vacancies. False claims may lead to disqualification or disciplinary action as per Kerala PSC Rules.
How to Apply for PSC LSGD Tracer 2026 – Step-by-Step
Candidates must apply through Kerala PSC One Time Registration (OTR) at www.keralapsc.gov.in. New applicants should complete OTR, while registered users can log in using their User ID and password.
Step 1: Profile & Photograph
Upload a photograph with the name and date of photo taken printed at the bottom. The photo is valid for 10 years. For new profiles, the photograph must be taken within 6 months. Candidates must ensure all personal details are correct and keep login credentials secure. No application fee is required.
Step 2: Submit Online Application
Click “Apply Now” under the Tracer notification, verify details, and submit. Once submitted, the application is provisional and cannot be edited or deleted. Keep a printout or soft copy from “My Applications” for future reference. Quote your User ID for all communications. Non-compliance with notification conditions will lead to rejection. Original documents must be produced during verification. Aadhaar should be added as ID proof if available.
Step 3: Important Date
Last Date to Apply: 04 February 2026 (Wednesday) up to 12:00 Midnight.
Step 4: Exam Confirmation & Hall Ticket
