Eligibility Criteria
The departmental tests are conducted twice a year – in January and July. Those candidates interested in appearing for the Kerala PSC Departmental Test must satisfy all the conditions laid down in G.O. (P) No. 481/Public (Special) Department dated: 8/11/1963 the amendments issued therein.

Exam Pattern
- Tests are Objective OMR-based online examinations.
- The Second Class Language Test is in Malayalam (Tamil/Kannada), Minority Language Test (Tamil/Kannada) is in the descriptive pattern.
- The maximum marks are 100 and the candidate should acquire a minimum of 40% for the pass.
- Each right answer is awarded one mark.
- And for each wrong answer, 1/3rd of the mark will be deducted.
- Department tests follow the “with books/without books” pattern.
