Table of Contents
Staff Selection Commission is an organisation under the Government of India that recruits personnel for various positions in the government of India’s ministries and departments, as well as in subordinate offices. This commission is an attached office of the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), and it is made up of a chairman, two members, and an examination secretary-cum-controller. This position is equivalent to that of an additional secretary to the Indian government. On May 21, 1999, the government of India redefined the functions of the Staff Selection Commission through the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions. The Staff Selection Commission’s new constitution and responsibilities then took effect on June 1st, 1999.
