What is SSC?

SSC stands for Staff Selection Commission. It is an organisation under government of India responsible for conducting various recruitment examinations for posts in central government ministries, departments and  in subordinate offices and agencies.

This commission is an attached office of the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) which consists of chairman, two members and a secretary-cum-controller of examinations.

Structure of the Staff Selection Commission

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is headed by a Chairman, assisted by two Members. The Commission’s headquarters also has a Secretary, Director, Deputy Secretary, Joint Directors, Under Secretaries, Deputy Directors, Finance & Budget Officer, Assistant Director (Official Language), Section Officers, and other supporting staff who assist in carrying out the Commission’s functions and responsibilities.

Headquarters

Staff Selection Commission has its headquarters located in New Delhi. At present, it has seven Regional offices at Prayagraj, Mumbai, Kolkata, Guwahati, Chennai, Bangalore and New Delhi. It also has two Sub-regional offices at Raipur and Chandigarh.

Each regional office is headed by a Regional Director and each Sub-Regional office is headed by a Deputy Director.

SSC full form in Hindi is कर्मचारी चयन आयोग! 

कर्मचारी चयन आयोग ( एसएससी ) भारत सरकार के अधीन एक संगठन है जो सरकार के विभिन्न मंत्रालयों और विभागों तथा अधीनस्थ कार्यालयों और एजेंसियों में विभिन्न पदों के लिए कर्मचारियों की भर्ती करता है। यह आयोग कार्मिक एवं प्रशिक्षण विभाग (डीओपीटी) का एक संलग्न कार्यालय है । आयोग का नेतृत्व एक अध्यक्ष करता है और अध्यक्ष की सहायता के लिए दो सदस्य और एक सचिव-सह-परीक्षा नियंत्रक होते हैं। इसका मुख्यालय नई दिल्ली में है।

हर साल SSC  कई तरह के एग्जाम आयोजित करती हैं। जैसे कि- सीजीएल (CGL), सीएचएसएल (CHSL), स्टेनो (Steno), जेई (JE), MTS परीक्षा यानी मल्टी टास्किंग ।

The SSC CGL full form is Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level Exam. It is conducted to recruit candidates for group B and Group C posts in various departments of the Government of India. The Exam is conducted to fill vacancies of the following posts:

• Assistants in Ministries/Departments, Attached and Subordinate office of the Govt. of India.
• Inspectors of Central Excise & Customs.
• Inspectors of Income Tax.
• Preventive Officers in Customs.

SSC CPO full form is Staff Selection Commission Central Police Organization. The SSC conducts a national Level test called the CPO exam for recruiting candidates into the Central Police Organization. SSC CPO various posts are:

SSC JHT

SSC JHT full form is Staff Selection Commission Junior Hindi Translator. Every year, SSC conducts an open competitive Computer Based Examination for Combined Recruitment of:

• Junior Hindi Translator

• Hindi Pradhyapak Posts

The SSC Junior Hindi Translator (JHT) will comprise of two papers i.e. Paper-I (Computer Based Mode) & Paper-II (Descriptive).

SSC CHSL

SSC CHSL full form is Staff Selection Commission Combined Higher Secondary Level Examination.The SSC conducts Combined Higher Secondary Level (10+2) Examination for recruitment of:

• Lower Division Clerk (LDC)
• Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA)
• Postal Assistant (PA)
• Sorting Assistant (SA)
• Data Entry Operator (DEO).

For applying, candidates must only have passed 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.

SSC GD full form is Staff Selection Commission General Duty Examination. The SSC will conduct an open examination for recruitment to the posts of:
