The Staff Selection Commission will hold the Combined Graduate Level Examination in 2021 to fill various Group ‘B’ and Group ‘C’ posts in various Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations of the Government of India, as well as various Constitutional Bodies/ Statutory Bodies/ Tribunals, and so on. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has invited qualified candidates to apply for the position of ‘Assistant’ for the fiscal year 2021-22.

Eligibility by Age: RBI Assistant vs SSC CGL

  • For Group ‘B’ Gazetted posts, ex-servicemen, including Commissioned Officers and ECOs/ SSCOs, who have given at least 5 years Military Service as of the closing date of receipt of applications and have been discharged, age relaxation up to a maximum of 5 years.
  • Ex-servicemen who have previously gained regular work in the civil sector under the government in Group C and D posts by taking advantage of the benefits of ex-service men’s reservation are not eligible for ESM category reservation or fee concession. There are a few exceptions to these rules in certain circumstances. Read the official notification to know more.

Educational Qualifications Required: RBI Assistant vs SSC CGL

Below given are the educational qualifications required for the said posts.

Education Post qualification ·        Bachelor’s Degree in any field with at least 50% marks in the aggregate

·        Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a minimum pass class for SC/ST/PwBD candidates

·        Should have a working knowledge of word processing on PC.

·         A candidate who is an Ex-servicemen should either be a graduate from an established University or must have qualified the matriculation or its equivalent exam of the Armed Forces and should have done at least 15 years of defence service

·        should be proficient in the local language of the particular state or regions falling under that office for which you are applying (i.e. know to read, write, speak and comprehend the language)

Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer ·        Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University/ Institute.

·        Below given are some of the desirable additional qualifications.

a)   Chartered Accountant

b)   Cost & Management Accountant

c)   Company Secretary

d)   Masters in Commerce

e)   Master’s in Business Studies

f)   Master’s in Business Administration (Finance)

g)   Masters in Business Economics.

·        Should qualify the “Subordinate Audit/ Accounts Service Examination” during the time of probation to confirm the regular appointment.

Junior Statistical Officer Bachelor’s Degree in any field from a distinguished University or Institute with a minimum 60% Marks in Mathematics at 12th standard level

Or

Bachelor’s Degree in any field with Statistics as a subject at degree level.

Statistical Investigator Grade-II ·        Bachelor’s Degree in any field with Statistics as one of the subjects

·        from a distinguished University /Institute. The aspirants should have studied Statistics as a subject in all three years /all the 6 semesters of the graduation course.

Assistant in National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) ·        Bachelor’s Degree from a distinguished University

·        /Institute

·        A degree in law from a recognized university is desirable.

Research Assistant in National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) ·        Essential Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University/ Institute.

Desirable Qualifications

·        At least one year of research experience in any recognized university / Research Institution

·        Degree in Law or Human Rights from a certified university

All other Posts ·        Bachelor’s Degree/ equivalent from a certified University

There are a few positions that demand physical standards, physical tests, and medical standards, such as Inspector (Central Excise/ Examiner/ Preventive Officer), Inspector and Sub-Inspector in CBN, Sub-Inspector in CBI and NIA, and so on.

  • RBI conducts a language proficiency exam for the people who qualify for the main exam for the post of Assistant.
  • SSC CGL Tier-I and Tier-II tests have questions of the type Multiple choice and Objective. The questions medium can be English or Hindi except for English Comprehension passages. A negative 0.50 mark is awarded for every incorrect answer
  • In Tier- 2 examination, a negative 0.25 mark is awarded for every incorrect answer in Paper-2 (English Language and Comprehension) and a negative 0.50 mark for each incorrect answer in Paper-1, Paper-3 & Paper-4.
  • Paper-1 and Paper-2 are obligatory for all the posts described above. Paper-3 is assigned for the candidates who have applied for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation and Statistical Investigator Grade-II in the office of Registrar General of India (M/o Home Affairs). Paper-IV will be compulsory only for those aspirants who are selected after Tier-I for appearing for the Paper-IV exam i.e. for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer.
