Selection Process ESIC Stenographer 2022
There is no preliminary examination for the stenographer post. The new exam pattern issued talks about the phase 1 main exam and a phase 2 skill test. Skill tests have both dictation tests as well as computer-based transcription tests. Both phase 1 and phase 2 are equally important for the final rank list and later for the appointment. The candidate should have some working knowledge of Computers including Office Suites and Databases.

Test wise marks and the total marks are reported with decimal point to two digits. Marks required for minimum qualification are considered in two cases i.e., on marks in individual tests as well as on total marks
Phase 1 Exam Selection Procedure
1: What does the acronym "ATM" stand for in banking?
- Phase 1 exam is not qualifying in nature and the marks obtained in Phase – I Main Test is significant when it comes to final selection.
- There will be a negative mark for every wrongly answered question. One-fourth of the mark assigned to that particular question will be reduced.
- The candidates will be shortlisted for the Phase-II skill test by assessment of their performance in the phase 1 exam. One-tenth the number of the total vacancy (for each category) will be shortlisted.

The question paper will be bilingual i.e., questions and their choices will be provided in both English and Hindi languages, except for the questions of English language and comprehension paper.

Phase 2 Skill Test Selection Procedure
Shortlisted candidates should appear in a skill test of stenography. Phase 2 skill test is qualifying in nature
Phase 2 Skill Test Pattern
- A 10 minutes dictation will be given in either English or Hindi
- Applicants can choose their language of dictation for skill tests in their online application form.
- Qualifying writing speed is 80 words per minute
- The same matter should be transcribed into computer

Working knowledge of PWD applicants who are not capable of typing will be evaluated through an objective type Computer Assessment of 50 marks having 50 questions and no negative marking. Both the Computer Test and the Stenography Test for such aspirants will be of qualifying nature and marks gained will not be considered for the merit list.
The Qualifying Benchmarks in Phase –II Stenography Skill Test will be determined at the prudence of ESIC.
If the test is conducted in more than one shift, the marks across various shifts will be equated to compensate for minor differences in the difficulty level of different test batteries used across shifts. More than one shift is required if the nodes capacity is less or some technical trouble takes place at any center or for any applicant.
Document Verification for ESIC Stenographer 2022
The candidates who qualify all the phases of the ESIC Stenographer selection procedure are summoned for a document verification step. The contenders will have to submit the original copies of the following credentials to the Corporation. In addition to this, candidates should bring with them a set of photocopies of said documents in case they are asked to submit one.

ESIC Steno Allotment
The final allotment is done after verification of the above-said document according to the discretion of the corporation. Cases for offering erroneous information and/or process violation by an applicant detected at any step of the selection process will lead to disqualification of the applicant from the selection process and he/she will not be permitted to take part in any ESIC recruitment process in the coming years. If such occurrences go unnoticed during the present selection process but are spotted subsequently, such disqualification will take place with retrospective effect.
