The aspirants who are aspiring to be an ESIC UDC (Upper-Division Clerk) have to go through three stages which include Phase I (Prelims), Phase II (Main) and Phase III (Computer Skills test). Apart from the three stages, there are certain eligibility criteria placed for the applicants. Every aspirant applying for the UDC post has to satisfy the minimum eligibility set like the minimum age limit, minimum qualifying marks, educational qualification etc. ESIC (Employees’ State Insurance Corporation) is a National Level Examination where the selection procedure remains the same for all the states in the country but the Cut Off marks for each State is different. ESIC UDC Selection Process 2022
All those who are applying for the Upper Division Clerk post will have to go through 3 stages in the selection process. This includes three stages :
- Phase I- Prelims (Objective)
- Phase II- Main (Objective)
- Phase III- Computer Skill test

Phase I (Prelims)
1: What does the acronym "ATM" stand for in banking?
The first stage for the selection of UDC or Upper- Division Clerk is the written exam called the Prelims. This exam paper will be an Objective Type or Multiple choice paper which includes 100 questions and the time allotted for the paper will be 1 hour. Check the table below for the details.

- The marks obtained in the first stage or prelims will be qualifying in nature and will not be considered for the final selection.
- Time allotted will be only one hour and a total of 100 questions will be asked each question will be of 2 marks.
- There is no sectional timing for the Paper I (Prelims).
- For every wrong answer marked there will be a reduction of 1/4th of the assigned marks.
- The aspirants will be shortlisted in the ratio of 1:10 or 10 times the number of vacancies for the post.

Phase II (Mains)
After the aspirants have qualified the Paper I (Prelims), they will now start preparing for the next phase or mains which is again an objective type paper. The examines will have to complete the exam in just 120 minutes. Check the below table to know more about the Phase II (Main) exam.

- The marks obtained in this phase will be considered for the final selection.
- The time allotted is 120 minutes and each question will carry 1 mark.
- There is no sectional timing for the Paper-II (Main).
- For every wrong answer marked there will be a reduction of 1/4th of the assigned mark.
- The candidates will be shortlisted in the ratio of 1:5 i.e, 5 times the number of vacancies for the post.
Phase III (Computer Skills Test)
After the Paper-II (Main), the candidates will be selected for the third phase or Paper- III (Computer skills) which will be the last round of selection for the ESIC UDC and the candidates will be given half an hour for this round. In this test aspirant’s basic skills on the computer will be tested in a given time. Check the table for the details.

Note:
- For every correct answer in Paper-I (Prelims), +2 will be counted and for every wrong answer marked ¼ (i.e, 0.5) of the assigned marks will be deducted.
- For every correct answer in Paper-II (mains), +1 will be awarded and for every wrong answer marked 0.25 marks will be reduced.
- The selection procedure for ESIC UDC will be the same for every state.
