Kerala PSC Legal Assistant Eligibility Criteria
As the name indicates, the Legal Assistant should have legal education background from any recognized institute. Let’s check the PSC recognized essential educational qualification and age limit criteria for the Legal Assistant posts.
Legal Assistant Age Limit
Candidates age shall be between 18 years and 36 years. If you are applying for the positions in 2021, the candidates should have born between 1985 January 02 and 2003 January 01 (both dates included) to be eligible
to apply for this post. Candidates belonging to Other Backward Communities and SC/ ST candidates are eligible for usual age relaxation. The provisional hands working in the above concern will be given age relaxation to the extent of their provisional service put in subject to a maximum of five years from the upper age limit provided they were within the prescribed age limit on the date of their first appointment in the above concern. The regular
employees of the concern are not eligible for the above concession for further appointment.
The provisional hands should obtain a certificate showing the period of their provisional service in the concern and shall produce the same as and when required by the Commission. It would also be clearly specified in the certificate that they were not working in the regular service of the concern.
In the case of difference in original caste/ community claimed in the application and that entered in SSLC book, the candidate shall produce a Gazette notification in this regard, along with Non-Creamy Layer Certificate/ Community Certificate at the time of certificate verification.

Legal Assistant Education Qualification
The required education qualification for the Kerala PSC Legal Assistant position is:
- Candidates should possess a Bachelors degree/ graduation in Law of a recognized University.
- They should possess the experience as Legal Assistant for not less than 2 years in a Government Department or an industrial or commercial undertaking or limited company registered under the Companies Act or public sector undertakings or Registered Private Sector undertakings wherein Government have investments. OR
- Experience for not less than 2 years at the Bar as an Advocate.
- Exposure to computer operations is essential
Candidates who claim equivalent qualification instead of the qualification mentioned in the notification (Degree in Law) shall produce the relevant Government Order to prove the equivalency at the time of verification, then only such qualification shall be treated as equivalent to the prescribed qualification.
