Kerala PSC PWD AE (Civil) 2025 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates applying for the Assistant Engineer (Civil) post in the Public Works Department must satisfy the following eligibility conditions:
Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 21 years
- Maximum Age: 40 years
- Only candidates born between 02.01.1985 and 01.01.2004 (both dates inclusive) are eligible.
- Age Relaxation: Applicable to SC/ST and OBC categories as per government rules. (See Para 2 of Part II in the general conditions of the notification for details.)
Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess any one of the following qualifications:
- B.Sc./B.Tech Degree in Civil Engineering from Kerala University
- B.E. Degree (Civil) from Madras University
- Any other qualification recognized as equivalent by the Government or Kerala PSC
- Associate Membership of the Institution of Engineers (India) in Civil Engineering
- Pass in Sections A and B of the Associate Membership Examinations of the Institution of Engineers (India) in Civil Engineering
Note:
- Rule 10(a)(ii) of Part II of KS&SSR is applicable.
- Candidates with higher or equivalent qualifications recognized by government orders or Kerala PSC will also be considered eligible. Such candidates must produce proof of equivalency when required.

Selected candidates will be on probation for a total period of two years within a continuous period of three years from the date of joining duty.
Kerala PSC PWD Assistant Engineer Civil Selection Process 2025
The selection process for the post of Assistant Engineer (Civil) in the Public Works Department will be conducted in the following stages:
Written / OMR / Online Test
- The first stage is a Written Examination, which may be OMR-based or conducted online.
- The exam will assess the candidate’s technical knowledge in Civil Engineering, along with general awareness and aptitude.
- Candidates scoring above the cutoff will be shortlisted for the next stage.
Document Verification
