Every year the SSC MTS Cut off scores is rising steadily as the competition is becoming solid.
In previous years, the commission used to prepare the cut-off scores based on the state or Union Territory to which the candidates have applied and the categories. But now the preliminary results are classified to two different age groups; 18- 25 years, and 18 years to 27 years and then into different categories. SSC will use the normalised marks to determine the cut-off scores after the preliminary tests. Since the Descriptive Paper is only of qualifying nature, marks scored by the candidates in Paper-II will be used to decide merit in case more than one candidate score equal normalized marks in Paper-I.
SSC MTS Cut-off Scores
The vacancies for MTS are in two age groups i.e.
- 18 to 25 years and
- 18 to 27 years,
so in the final result, there will be separate age group-wise, State/ UT-wise and category-wise cut-offs. Since the preliminary tests are occurring in different shifts across weeks, the commission will use the normalized score for deciding the cut-off score. Marks scored by candidates in Paper-I will be normalized by using the formula published by the Commission and such normalized scores will be used to determine final merit and cut-off marks. Candidates can get their raw score only after the final results. The candidate’s marks in the descriptive paper (Paper-II) will be used to decide merit in case more than one candidate score equal normalized marks in the preliminary written test.
