According to the notification, APPSC Group-II Services is offering recruitment for 446 posts across the state of AP.

The 446 posts offered by APPSC will be classified under Executive and Non-Executive posts as tabulated below.

APPSC Group 2 Eligibility Criteria

Now that we have discussed the APPSC Group 2 posts and payment structure, let us look into the criteria that are laid in order to be qualified to appear for the APPSC group 2 examination.

 Nationality:

The candidate must be an Indian Citizen.

 Age Limit:

The lower age limit is 18 years and the upper age limit is 42 years for APPSC Group 2 jobs. However, upper age limit will be provided to SC/ST/OBC candidates as per the government protocols

The details of the Age relaxation provided for the candidates are as given below:

Category of candidates Relaxation of age permissible for APPSC Group 2 jobs.
Retrenched temporary employees in the State Census Department with a minimum service of 6 months. 3 Years
A.P. State Government Employees (Employees of APSEB, APSRTC, Corporations, Municipalities etc. are not eligible). 5 Years based on the
length of regular service.
Ex-serviceman and Serving persons of the Armed Forces of the Union 3 years and length of service rendered in the armed forces/NCC
who are seeking re- employment one year before the completion of the specified terms of engagement covered under Rule 12(c)(i) & explanation to Rule 2(16) of AP State and Subordinate Service Rules, 1996 Service rendered in the armed forces.
N.C.C. (who have worked as Instructor in N.C.C.) 3 Years and length of service rendered in the armed forces/NCC
Physically Handicapped persons 10 Years
Widows, divorced women and women judicially separated from their husbands, who are not remarried and belonging to SC/ST category covered under Rule 12(b)(iii) of AP State and Subordinate Service Rules, 1996 with reference to posts of Junior Assistants Upper age limit is 48 years
Widows, divorced women and women judicially separated from their husbands, who are not remarried and not belonging to SC/ST category covered under Rule 12(b)(iii) of AP State and Subordinate Service Rules, 1996 with reference to posts of Junior Assistants Upper age limit is 43 years

Educational Qualification

Applicants must have Bachelor’s Degree / B.C.A/ B.Sc. in concerned discipline from a recognized university to apply for the above mentioned posts of APPSC Group 2.

Physical Standards for Prohibition & Excise Sub Inspector

The below criteria on physical standards is laid only for the applicants to the post of Prohibition & Excise Sub Inspector

For Men

  • Height- should not be less than 165 cm (General) and 160 cm(ST)
  • Chest- should not be less than 81 cm (with a minimum expansion of 5 cm)

For Women

  • Height- Should not be less than 5 cm
  • Weight-Should not weigh less than 45.5Kgs

 

APPSC Group 2 Selection Procedure

The selection procedure comprises of four stages:

  1. Preliminary Examination
  2. Mains Examination
  3. Practical examination
  4. Interview /Document verification

 

The description of the four stages are as follows:

Preliminary Examination

The first round of the selection process includes written examination of one paper with three sections in it.

Mains Examination

The second round of the selection process includes a written examination of three papers.

 Practical Examination

Computer Proficiency Test (Qualifying Test) for eligible candidates in the ratio of 1:2 with reference to total number of vacancies notified. As per APPSC Group 2 Exam Pattern, there are 4 parts in practical test. Candidates can check the table below to know about practical test.

Interview /Document verification

Only the candidates who qualifies the written examination have to produce original documents and other particulars at the time of verification.

Note:

  • The selections to these posts will be based on the marks/merit obtained by the candidates in the Written examination subject to rule of reservation, local reservation etc. duly following special representation as laid down in General Rule-22 and 22-A of A.P. State and Subordinate Service Rules, and also with due regard to special/ technical qualifications if any.
  • Candidates must appear for all the three papers in written examination.
  • There will be no waiting list. If eligible candidates are not available, such vacancies will be carried forward to the next notification.
  • The minimum qualifying marks for selection are OCs 40%, BCs 35%, SCs, STs & PHs 30% or as per rules. The minimum qualifying marks are relaxable in the case of SC/ST/BC & PHs on the discretion of the Commission.
