1: Which Year First Assembly Election was held in Kerala?
Kerala Fire and Rescue Services is the service department of the Government of Kerala whose function is to fight fires and provide relief measures in times of calamities and disasters in Kerala. The post of Fireman comes under this department and is responsible for the provision of fire protection as well as responding to building collapses, drownings, gas leakage, oil spillage, road and rail accidents, animal rescue, fallen trees and taking appropriate action during natural disasters. Firefighters under Kerala PSC are trained to respond to fires, accidents and other incidents where there are risks to life and property. They are trained at the Fire And Rescue Services Academy in Viyyur. Once the training is completed, they can be posted anywhere in the state. Workers will have rotational shift and the work also involves travel within the city of placement.

A fireman’s qualification, years of service provided and job efficiency may be taking into account while considering promotion. With promotion and higher post comes better pay and more responsibilities. However, upon completion of training and examination, every appointed person shall be on probation for two years within three continuous years of duty.

All employees working Fire and Rescue Services Department comes under the government sector and they too are governed by the same laws. The retirement age of employees is 56 years. Employees are eligible to get pension if they have served for a minimum of 10 years. Pension will be calculated based on the basic salary of the employee in the last 12 months.

Candidates recruited for the post of Fireman will be paid an amount of ₹ 27900 – 63700/ per month.
Kerala PSC Fireman Recruitment 2023: Allowances
Apart from the basic salary, all employees under Kerala PSC are eligible for extra allowances. These allowance will depend upon the grade of the employee. Some of the allowances a Fireman is eligible for are:
- Dearness Allowance (DA)
- House Rent Allowance (HR)
- Transport Allowance
- CCA(City Compensatory Allowance)
- Other Allowances
The percentage of these allowances will be based on the basic salary. The final salary will be the sum of basic salary and the allowances as applicable.
