Those candidates who are interested in being a part of this prestigious institute are advised to kick-start their preparation as soon as possible. SEBI Grade A Eligibility 2024: Exam Pattern
Exams for the selection of SEBI Grade A consists of 3 phases:
- Phase 1 (Preliminary Examination)
- Phase 2 -(Main Examination)
- Phase 3 ( Interview)

i. There shall be negative marking (1/4th of marks will be reduced from the marks assigned to the question) for the Paper 1 and Paper 2 in Phase 1.
ii. There shall be a cut-off of a minimum of 30% for the first paper(no sectional cut-off shall be there) and a cut-off of a minimum of 40% for the second paper.
iii. Candidates would need to secure independent cut-off in all the papers as mentioned in the second point above as well as aggregate cut-off marks of 40% in Phase I exam to be shortlisted for Phase II. Marks obtained in the initial phase shall be used only for filtering the candidates for the next examination process and will not be counted for the final selection of the candidates.
iv. Subject to the criteria mentioned as the third point above, all the candidates who clear Phase I will be shortlisted for Phase II. Shortlisted candidates for Phase II will be displayed on the SEBI website.

i. Candidates selected for Phase II will be issued new admit cards.
ii. Applicants who have applied in more than one stream, Second Phase will be conducted in several shifts, the timings of which will be mentioned in the admit card.
iii. There shall be negative marking assigned to the question for second paper in Phase II (except IT stream for which details shall be informed in due course).
iv. A cut-off of a minimum of 30% for Paper-1 in Phase I and a cut-off of a minimum 40% for Paper-2 in Phase II will be applied.
v. Candidates would need to secure independent cut-off in both the papers as mentioned at (iv) above as well as total cut-off marks of 40% in Phase II exam (weightage of 1/3rd for Paper 1 and 2/3rd for Paper 2) to be short-listed for Phase III.
vi. Dependent to the criteria mentioned at (v) above, candidates adding up to 3 times the number of vacancies shall be shortlisted, in order of merit, for Phase III or the Interview. A list of candidates shortlisted for the Interview will be made announced on the SEBI website.
Interview
Only the shortlisted candidates will get the interview call. The application fee shall not be refunded to the aspirants who did not pass the Phase II exam. Candidate may choose to give interviews either in Hindi or English. The second Phase’s weightage will be 85%, while the third Phase shall be given a weightage of 15%.
