SEBI (Securities &Exchange Board of India) was first established in 1988 as a non-statutory body with the aim of regulating the securities market. It was given statutory powers by the Government of India with SEBI Act 1992. Since then, SEBI is referred to, as an autonomous body. Every year SEBI releases its various posts. This year as well SEBI released recruitment for Grade A 2020 on its official website for General, Legal, Information Technology Stream, Engineering (electrical), Research, and Official Language streams. SEBI GRADE A Exam Pattern
SEBI GRADE A selection procedure is a three-tier process i.e.
- Phase l (online exam)
- Phase ll (online exam)
- Phase lll (interview)
SEBI GRADE A Phase 1 Exam Pattern
The phase l exam will comprise of 2 papers. Paper 1 will be common for all the streams whereas the exam pattern of Paper 2 may vary according to various disciplines. The Phase 1 online exam will be held on 4th July 2020.
- There shall be negative marking (1/4th of marks assigned to the question) for the Paper 1 and Paper 2 in Phase 1.
- There shall be a cut-off of minimum 30% for Paper 1 (no sectional cut-off shall be there) and a cut-off of minimum 40% for Paper 2 in Phase 1.
- The aggregate cut-off marks in Phase 1 exam to be shortlisted for Phase 2 in 40%
SEBI GRADE A Phase 2 Exam Pattern
Phase 2 will comprise of 2 Papers. Paper 1 will consist of English (descriptive test) whereas Paper 2 will consist of Multiple choice questions on Specialized subject related to the stream. The Phase 2 online exam will be held on 23rd August 2020.
- The aggregate cut-off marks in Phase 2 exam is 40%.
- Candidates equally 3 times the number of vacancies shall be shortlisted, in order of merit, for Phase 3 i.e. the Interview.
SEBI GRADE A Interview
- Candidates may opt for interview either in Hindi or English.
- Weightage of marks obtained in Phase 2 will be 85%, while marks obtained in Interview shall be given a weightage of 15%.
