Stage 2: Onscreen and Physical Certificate Verification
Onscreen certificate verification
- TNPSC draws a list of candidates for onscreen certificate verification based on the minimum qualifying marks and the rule of reservation.
- Candidates are admitted in the ratio of:
- 1:3 or 1:4 for posts not requiring experience
- 1:10 for posts requiring experience
- The experience certificate you upload is verified by a committee formed by the Head of the Department or organisation concerned. The committee can reject the certificate after due process, and its decision is final.
Physical certificate verification and interview
After onscreen verification, candidates are admitted to the physical certificate verification and interview based on their written exam marks and the rule of reservation:
| Situation | Candidates called |
|---|---|
| Vacancies in a reservation category (SC, SC(A), ST, MBC/DC, BC(OBCM), BCM or General Turn) are 5 or above | 2 times the number of vacancies |
| Vacancies in a reservation category are 4 or below | 3 times the number of vacancies |
| Post with a single cadre strength where reservation does not apply | 3 candidates |
Many posts in this recruitment have only 1 or 2 vacancies, so the written exam rank decides whether you reach the interview. See the vacancy details for the numbers.
Stage 3: The Interview (60 Marks)
- The interview carries 60 marks.
- Its objective is to assess your suitability for the post by judging your personality, bearing, aptitude, general knowledge and technical knowledge.
- Date and time of the physical certificate verification, interview and counselling are published on www.tnpsc.gov.in. TNPSC also sends SMS and email to the registered mobile number and email ID, but it is not responsible if a message does not reach you due to an incorrect number or a technical issue. Always check the website.
- Carry your original certificates for the physical verification. Any discrepancy between your online claims and your documents can lead to rejection after due process.
