The number of vacancies for Assistant Engineer (Civil) in the Irrigation Department (KPSC categories 537/2025 and 538/2025) is anticipated and will be confirmed at the time of selection. • Method of Appointment: Direct Recruitment from departmental candidates only (Overseers, Draftsmen, Clerks, Last Grade Servants with ≥2 years service)
• Age Limit: Minimum 18 years; no upper age limit.
• Qualifications:

  • Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) in Civil Engineering

  • Service certificate required for departmental candidates; equivalent/higher qualifications accepted.

• Probation: 2 years on duty within a continuous period of 3 years.

Kerala PSC AE Civil 2026 Selection Process

Selection for the Assistant Engineer (Civil) post will be based on a written/OMR/online test. Shortlisted candidates will undergo document verification. Final selection will be based purely on merit, as per government rules and PSC guidelines.
