Kerala PSC Assistant Prison Officer 2025 Vacancy
The Kerala Public Service Commission (KPSC) has announced anticipated statewide vacancies for the post of Assistant Prison Officer in the Department of Prisons and Correctional Services.

Kerala PSC Assistant Prison Officer Selection Steps 2025
The Kerala Public Service Commission (KPSC) recruits Assistant Prison Officers through a multi-stage process set to test both mental aptitude and physical endurance.
Step 1: Written / OMR / Online Test
- The recruitment begins with a written or online examination.
 - Candidates who achieve the qualifying score are shortlisted for the Physical Measurement Test (PMT).
 
Step 2: Physical Measurement Test (PMT)
During PMT, the candidate’s height and chest measurements are checked according to official standards.
Candidates must be physically sound and free from visible deformities such as flat feet, bow legs, or varicose veins.

Step 3: Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
Applicants clearing PMT must participate in the Physical Efficiency Test, proving their physical capability by qualifying in any 5 out of 8 events from the One Star Standard Test.
Accidents or injuries during PET will not allow a retest as per PSC guidelines.

Step 4: Medical Fitness & Certificate Verification
- Those who pass the PET must upload a Medical Certificate issued by a Government Medical Officer (Assistant Surgeon or above).
 - It should confirm normal vision (6/6 and 0.5 Snellen without glasses) and overall physical fitness.
 - Documents supporting age, qualification, and community are also verified in this phase.
 
Step 5: Ranked List and Appointment
- Based on performance in all stages, PSC prepares a Ranked List.
 - The list remains active for at least one year, up to a maximum of three years.
 - Appointed candidates must complete two years of probation within a continuous three-year period, including mandatory training and departmental tests.

Step 1: One Time Registration (OTR)
- Candidates must register through the ONE TIME REGISTRATION (OTR) system on the KPSC website.
 - Those who have already registered can log in using their User ID and Password.
 - New users must create a profile and upload a recent photograph (taken within the last 6 months).
 - The name and date of photograph must be printed clearly at the bottom of the image.
 - Once uploaded correctly, the photo will remain valid for 10 years.
 - No application fee is required.
 
Step 2: Apply for the Post
- After login, click the ‘Apply Now’ button next to Assistant Prison Officer under the current notification link.
 - Verify all personal, educational, and contact details carefully before final submission.
 - Once submitted, the application cannot be edited or deleted.
 - Candidates should keep a printout or soft copy of the submitted application for future use

 - Admit cards can be downloaded during the last 15 days before the exam date.

Step 4: Document Verification
- During verification, candidates must produce original certificates for proof of:
