The selection for the Assistant Prison Officer post under the Department of Prisons and Correctional Services is carried out by the Kerala Public Service Commission (KPSC) through several stages to test both knowledge and physical ability.
Written / OMR / Online Test
- The process starts with a written or online examination.

Kerala PSC Assistant Prison Officer 2026 – Application Process
Eligible candidates must submit their applications online through the Kerala Public Service Commission’s official website – www.keralapsc.gov.in. No other mode of application will be accepted.
Step 1: Register / Login
- Register under the One Time Registration (OTR) system on the PSC portal.
- Existing users can log in using their User ID and Password.
- New candidates must upload a recent colour photograph (taken within 6 months) showing the name and date clearly.
- The uploaded photo remains valid for 10 years from the date of upload.
- No application fee is charged.
Step 2: Submit Application
- Once logged in, open the current notification and click on “Apply Now” next to Assistant Prison Officer.
- Recheck personal and qualification details before submitting; once sent, the form cannot be edited or withdrawn.
- Save or print a copy from the ‘My Applications’ section for reference.
Step 3: Confirmation & Admit Card
- Candidates must confirm their participation if a Written / OMR / Online Test is announced.
- Only those who confirm can download the Admission Ticket during the 15 days before the exam.
- All updates will be available in the PSC profile and sent to the registered mobile number.
Step 4: Certificate Verification
- During verification, candidates should produce original proof of age, qualification, community, and experience.
- Any application found to violate notification conditions will be rejected.
