Recruitment to the post of Female Assistant Prison Officer is carried out in multiple stages to ensure only the most suitable candidates are appointed.
Stage 1: Written Examination
Applicants must first attend a Written/OMR/Online Test. This exam evaluates general awareness, reasoning ability, and aptitude. Candidates are shortlisted based on performance.
Stage 2: Physical Standards Check
Those who pass the written test will undergo a Physical Measurement Test. Here, height, eyesight, and overall health are verified. Failure to meet the prescribed standards will lead to disqualification.
Stage 3: Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
Qualified candidates take part in the National Physical Efficiency One Star Standard Test. Out of eight events, a minimum of five must be cleared (including running, jumping, throwing, and skipping events).
Stage 4: Medical Fitness
A detailed medical examination is mandatory. Candidates must be free from physical defects such as knock knee, flat foot, or defective vision. The medical certificate has to be issued by a Government Medical Officer of the prescribed rank.
Stage 5: Verification of Certificates
Shortlisted candidates must produce all required certificates (education, community, age, medical, NCC/SPC/sports quota, etc.) for document verification.
Stage 6: Preparation of Rank List
Finally, Kerala PSC prepares a Rank List based on written exam marks plus eligible weightage marks. This list stays valid for one to three years, and appointments are made to vacancies reported during this period.
How to Apply for Female Assistant Prison Officer (Category No: 360/2025)
Candidates must submit applications online only through the Kerala PSC official website www.keralapsc.gov.in. No other mode of application is accepted.
Step 1: One Time Registration (OTR)
- New candidates must complete One Time Registration on the PSC website.
- Upload a recent passport-size photograph (taken within 6 months). The photo must show the candidate’s name and date of capture at the bottom.
- Once uploaded correctly, the photo will be valid for 10 years.
Step 2: Login & Apply
- Registered candidates should log in using their User ID and Password.
- Select the notification link and click on “Apply Now” for the post.
- Carefully check all personal details before final submission.
- After submission, the application becomes provisional and cannot be altered or deleted.
Step 3: Application Guidelines
- No application fee is required.
- Candidates are responsible for ensuring the correctness of information in their profile.
- Always keep a printout or soft copy of the application for future reference.
- Printouts can be taken anytime via the “My Applications” link in the profile.
- For all communication with the Commission, candidates must quote their User ID and may be required to attach the printout.

- Only those who confirm will be allowed to generate and download Admission Tickets, available in the last 15 days before the exam date.

- Exam confirmation periods and admission ticket availability will be published in the PSC Examination Calendar and notified in candidate profiles/mobile numbers.
Step 5: Document Verification
- Original documents proving age, education, community, experience, and other claims must be produced when called for verification.
- If caste/community details differ from SSLC records, a Gazette notification along with a valid Community/Non-Creamy Layer Certificate must be submitted.
Step 6: Special Instructions
- Candidates must read and follow Part II – General Conditions in the notification.
- Any bogus claims regarding qualification or experience will invite strict disciplinary action, including disqualification, debarment, cancellation of answer scripts, or even legal proceedings.
