Kerala PSC Excise Inspector Selection Stages – 2025

The recruitment for Excise Inspector (Category No. 187/2025) follows a multi-step process to ensure only the most suitable candidates are selected.

Stage 1 – Written Examination

• Preliminary Test: Objective questions covering general knowledge, reasoning, and basic aptitude.

• Main Examination: Descriptive and analytical questions to assess deeper subject knowledge.

Stage 2 – Physical Measurement

Candidates must meet the prescribed height and chest requirements:

• Male: Height – 165 cm (160 cm for SC), Chest – 81 cm with 5 cm expansion.
• Female: Height – 152 cm (150 cm for SC).
• No chest relaxation for SC/ST categories.

Medical Examination

• Official health and vision certification.
• Visual standards: Distant vision 6/6, near vision 0.5 (both eyes) without glasses.
• Must be free from physical deformities and conditions affecting performance.

Kerala PSC Excise Inspector Eligibility 2025

• Recruitment Type: Direct Recruitment
• Age Limit: 19–31 years (born between 02.01.1994 & 01.01.2006) with relaxations for SC/ST/OBC.
• Education: B.A, B.Sc, or B.Com Degree from a recognized university (SSLC for Ex-Servicemen).

Kerala PSC Excise Inspector 2025: Probation, Training & Mandatory Tests

After joining, appointees must complete two years of probation within a three-year span. Direct recruits serve as Excise Inspector Trainees and undergo at least 12 months of training, which is counted for both probation and annual increments. They are also required to pass the Account Test (Lower), Excise Tests (A & B), and the District Office/Office Procedure Manual exam during probation.
