The Kerala PSC University Assistant Recruitment 2025 (Category No. 454/2025) comes under the anticipated vacancy category. The exact number of University Assistant vacancies will be determined based on the posts reported by various Universities in Kerala during the validity of the rank list. As per the Kerala PSC rules, the ranked list published for the University Assistant post will remain in force for a minimum of one year and up to a maximum of three years. A common ranked list will be prepared for all Universities included under the Kerala Public Service Commission (Additional Functions) Act, 2015. Once a candidate is advised and appointed to a University, their turn is over for this ranked list; however, if they are later relieved due to lack of vacancies, they can register again with the Kerala PSC for reappointment when future posts are reported.

Additionally, 4% of all reported vacancies for the University Assistant post will be reserved for eligible Differently Abled candidates, as per G.O.(P) No. 19/2020/SJD. This makes the recruitment fully inclusive and aligned with the state government’s reservation norms.

Kerala PSC University Assistant 2026 Eligibility – Age, Education

Age Limit for Kerala PSC University Assistant 2026

• Applicants must be between 18 and 36 years of age.
• Only those born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2007 (both dates inclusive) are eligible to apply.
• Candidates belonging to SC, ST, and OBC communities are eligible for the usual age relaxation as per Part II Para 2 of the General Conditions. However, the upper age limit, including all relaxations, cannot exceed 50 years under any circumstances.

Kerala PSC University Assistant 2026 Selection Process

The Kerala PSC University Assistant Recruitment 2026 follows a structured and transparent selection procedure to ensure that only eligible and qualified candidates are appointed to various Universities in Kerala. The process includes three major stages:

1. Written Examination / OMR Test / Online Test

The first stage of the selection is a competitive written test, which may be conducted in OMR or online mode. Only candidates who submit exam confirmation through their Kerala PSC profile will be permitted to write the test. Admission Tickets can be downloaded in the final 15 days before the exam date.

2. Document Verification

Candidates who qualify in the written test will be shortlisted for document verification. At this stage, applicants must produce original certificates proving their age, educational qualification, caste/community, experience (if applicable), and any other claims made in the application. Failure to provide valid documents may lead to disqualification. The Kerala PSC strictly enforces rules regarding false claims and may take disciplinary action for discrepancies.

3. Probation Period

Candidates who are finally selected and appointed as University Assistants will undergo a probation period of two years, which must be completed within a continuous span of three years. During this probation, candidates are required to pass the Secretariat Manual Test and the Accounts Test, which are mandatory for successful completion of probation. Only upon clearing these tests and meeting service requirements will the appointment be confirmed.

How to Apply – Kerala PSC University Assistant Notification 2026

The application process for the Kerala PSC University Assistant (Category No. 454/2025) is completely online through the official Kerala PSC Thulasi portal. Candidates must complete the following steps to successfully submit their application.

1. Complete One Time Registration (OTR)

All applicants must register through the Kerala PSC One Time Registration system before submitting the form. New users should create a profile on the official website and upload a recent photograph taken within the last six months. The candidate’s name and the date of the photograph must be clearly printed at the bottom. Once uploaded correctly, the photo remains valid for 10 years.

2. Login and Submit Application

Registered candidates can log in using their User ID and password. After logging in, click on the “Apply Now” button corresponding to the University Assistant post. After submitting the form, take a printout or save a soft copy for future use. This copy will be required for any communication with the Commission.

Photo Uploading Guidelines

• The photo to be uploaded can be in Color/ black and white.
• The face and shoulder of the candidate should be clearly visible
• Photo should be of 200 pixels height and 150 pixels width
• The file size should not exceed 30kb and it should be in JPG format
• The background of the photo should be either light-colored or white in color
• The eyes should be open
• Face should be centrally focused
• Photograph wearing cap goggles, (except cap, veil worn in adherence to religious custom), photographs showing a portion of the face, photo with unclear face shall not be accepted.

3. Follow Examination Confirmation Process

If the recruitment includes a Written Test / OMR Test / Online Test, candidates must submit an online confirmation within the dates mentioned in the Kerala PSC Examination Calendar. Only those who confirm will be able to download the Admission Ticket during the last 15 days before the test date. Applications without confirmation will be automatically rejected.

4. Verification and Document Submission

Original documents proving age, qualification, community, and other claims must be produced whenever the Kerala PSC requests them. Applications with incorrect information or violation of guidelines will be rejected during verification. Documents Required to Apply Include;

• Certificates to prove Educational qualification
• Experience certificate in the format prescribed by the Commission
• Certificates as proof of age
• Caste Certificate (if required)
• If the caste of the candidates is wrongly mentioned in their SSLC book, they should claim their original caste in their application and should produce Community/NCLC certificate issued from concerned revenue authority and the gazette notification for the same at the time of certificate

5. Disciplinary Action for False Claims

Candidates providing false details regarding qualifications or experience may face strict penalties under KPSC Rules of Procedure, Rule 22. It can include rejection of applications, debarment from future PSC exams, invalidation of exam materials, or even dismissal from service if already appointed.

6. Aadhaar Linking

Applicants who possess an Aadhaar Card should add it as an identity proof in their PSC profile for authentication and verification.

The Kerala PSC University Assistant pay scale is ₹39,300 – ₹83,000, and it increases with yearly increments, including:
