1.Reading Comprehension
This is the most important topic in the English Language section. Solving reading comprehension depends on your reading skills. Try to improve your reading skills by the habitual reading of a newspaper. Reading newspaper regularly will help you increase your reading skill as well as vocabulary.

2. Cloze Test
Before attempting the cloze test, you must understand the theme of the whole passage. Read the paragraph thoroughly at least once, so that you get a clear idea about the topic. Identify the keywords for better understanding. Reading the questions before the passage is also helpful in understanding the passage better.
3. Sentence Completion/Improvement
Sentence Completion is one of the most important tests designed to assess the vocabulary skills of the candidate. In a sentence, one or two blanks are left out to be filled with one of the alternatives given below.
Few tips for Sentence Completion/ Improvement
- Understand the tone of the passage
If the passage has a positive tone, select the word with positive tone. If the tone of the passage is negative, select the word with negative tone. Sometimes, it may happen that both the words might have the same tone. In that case, go for nuances ie, better word.
eg: If both ‘hate’ and ‘abhor’ are given in the options, both the words possess the same meaning we have to select the word ‘abhor.
4. Parajumbles
- Identify the opening sentence. Opening sentence means the sentence which introduces you to the topic. Usually, the introductory sentence starts with a noun.
- Form mandatory pairs. Mandatory pairs means the sentences which carries the same idea of the introductory pair.
- Identify the closing sentence. Closing sentence should summarize the whole idea of the passage.
5. Error Spotting
To attempt error spotting with full accuracy, one must have command over the Grammar section. Attempting maximum number of practice questions will help you attempt this topic effectively. Mostly, error based on basic rules including Tenses, Subject Verb agreement are asked in this the examination. Learning the basic grammar rules and practising enough questions are sufficient for this topic.
