The TNPSC Group 6 services include the Forest Apprentice post. The recruitment to the post of forest apprentice is managed by the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests. TNPSC Group 6 2022 Probation and Training

Candidates who are selected for TNPSC group 6 posts i.e. to the post of forest apprentice have to undergo a few years of rigorous training before their probation and later posting. The probation years will consist of 1-year preliminary training. On its successful completion, they will send for forest training two any of the 2 mentioned institutions. • A candidate who is chosen for the position of Forest Apprentice may be assigned to the Northern Forest Rangers’ College in Dehradun and the SFRC in Coimbatore provided they complete a written and oral test to be administered by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission. They will be on probation for a total of three years starting from the day he reports for duty.
• Such a person must complete preliminary training in a forest division for around 8 weeks during the first year of his probation in order to acquire a background in forestry before joining the college.
• If such a person successfully completes the first training, he or she will be assigned to the Rangers’ College in Dehradun or the Southern Forest Rangers’ College in Coimbatore for a minimum of two years of training.
• If a person who has successfully completed the preliminary training cannot be deputed to the Northern Forest Rangers’ College in Dehradun or the Southern Forest Rangers College in Coimbatore immediately after completing his preliminary training, he shall be treated as a Forester from the date of completion of his preliminary training to the date of his deputation to one of these Colleges.
• If the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests finds someone to be unsuitable during or after his initial training, he will not be permitted to be deputed to the Northern Forest Rangers’ College in Dehradun or the Southern Forest Rangers’ College in Coimbatore for additional training, and his probation will be terminated.

TNPSC Group 6 2022 Roles and Responsibilities

• After successfully completing his training at the Northern Forest Rangers’ College in Dehradun or the Southern Forest Rangers’ College in Coimbatore, a Forest Apprentice shall execute a bond with two sureties for Rs. 9000/- and also a separate agreement in each form as may be prescribed by the State Government from time to time, undertaking to serve the said Government in the Forest Department for five years.
• A Forest Apprentice must successfully complete the departmental tests in Law, Office Procedure, and Accounts during his probationary time.

TNPSC Group 6 2022 Career Growth and Promotion

• If the training at one of the colleges was successfully completed, the person will immediately be assigned as Ranger. He may be appointed as a Forester until a vacancy in the cadre occurs if there is neither an official nor a substantive opening in the Department’s Ranger cadre.
• For the purposes of the General Rules governing appointment as full members, a Forest Apprentice who has successfully completed his probation in accordance with this sub-rule shall be treated as an authorised probationer for the category of Rangers.
• When there are no substantive or officiating vacancies in the category of Rangers, Forest Apprentices who have successfully completed their probation are appointed as Foresters until a vacancy occurs.

The TNPSC Forest Apprentice 2022 salary structure is based on the 7th Pay Commission’s level 20 range of pay. The TNPSC Forest Apprentice 2022 salary ranges from INR 37700 to INR 138500 per month.

TNPSC Group 6 2022 Allowances

• They will receive a salary of Rs 125 per month and travel reimbursement at the amount allowed by the Tamil Nadu Travelling Allowances Rules during the training period.
• During his training at the Northern Forest Rangers’ College in Dehradun or the Southern Forest Rangers’ College in Coimbatore, a forest apprentice must get at least the base pay of Rs. 2000 per month.
• A 2200 rupee interest-free advance will be given to a forest apprentice for the purchase of necessary beginning equipment. Following completion of training at the College, a total of Rs. 1200 will be awarded as an outright grant, and the remaining Rs. 1000 will be handled as an interest-free loan and repaid in 50 instalments at a rate of Rs. 20 each. Additionally, he will receive travel reimbursement at the current Government of India rates for any distance travelled while enrolled in the College.
