Kerala PSC Civil Excise Officer 2026 Vacancy Details
The Kerala PSC Civil Excise Officer (Trainee) 2026 vacancies are announced district-wise, and separate ranked lists will be prepared for each district. The lists will remain valid for one year from finalization, and candidates will be advised based on reported vacancies.
A total of 97% of the cadre strength is reserved for direct recruitment. Candidates selected for one district cannot request a transfer for five years. Preference will be given to Ex-servicemen, and NCC certificate holders will receive weightage marks (A – 2%, B – 3%, C – 5%).
Appointments will be confirmed only after the successful completion of six months of basic training, and trainees will receive a stipend during this period.

The selection process for the Kerala PSC Civil Excise Officer (Trainee) 2026 consists of multiple stages, including a written exam, physical tests, medical examination, and document verification. Candidates must qualify at each stage to be considered for the final appointment.
1. Written Examination
- The first stage is an OMR-based objective test or online exam.
- The exam covers topics like General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Simple Arithmetic & Mental Ability, and General English/Malayalam.
- Candidates scoring above the cutoff marks will be shortlisted for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET).
2. Endurance Test
- Candidates who clear the written exam must undergo an Endurance Test.
- This test ensures candidates have the required physical stamina for the role.
- Test Requirement:
- Run 2.5 km within 13 minutes.
- Those who qualify will proceed to the Physical Efficiency Test (PET).
3. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Candidates must clear at least 5 out of the 8 events in the National Physical Efficiency Test (One Star Standard Test):

- No color blindness, squint, knock knees, flat feet, or other deformities.
5. Document Verification & Final Selection
- Candidates who clear the medical test will be called for document verification.
- The final district-wise rank list will be published.
- Selected candidates must undergo six months of basic training before being appointed as Civil Excise Officers (Trainee).
The tentative Physical Efficiency Test (PET) starts from January 15, 2025. Ensure all eligibility criteria are met to qualify.
