The SSC Stenographer job profile is as follows:
Speech writing
The duty of the Stenographer is to write speeches for the Senior officers of the department. A stenographer will be allotted to a senior officer and any speech delivered by the officer will have to be jotted down by the stenographer.
Press conference briefing
A Stenographer will be asked to attend the press conferences along with a Minister or a Senior Officer in order to record the statements of the persons in the conference. The stenographer helps in making and issuing a press release on the same subject discussed in the conference.
Assisting the Minister or Office
A stenographer will have to assist the Officer/ Minister in writing speeches and declarations for the Ministry Office.
Helping in Public relations
Another duty of the stenographer is to prepare notes on a daily basis. These notes are about the stand of the Governmental departments on various issues, which reaches the public. It is the Public Relations Officer of the department that is benefited the most by the stenographer because these officers require information to be shared with the public on a regular basis.

Stenographers are assigned to a certain Officer or Ministry. The opportunity for growth is limited for a stenographer. Grade C -INR 9300 – INR 34800.
Grade D -INR 5200- INR 20200.
SSC Stenographer Eligibility Criteria 2021
Age limit
Eligibility required in terms of age for Stenographer Grade C 18-30 years and for Stenographer Grade D is 18 – 27 years. Candidates belonging to the reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/PH/Ex-Servicemen, Central Government Employees, and J&K domiciled candidates) can avail age relaxation as per the Government of India.
Educational Qualification
The educational qualification required is a pass in plus two. Candidates appearing in the final year from the Board/University to prove the same can also apply for the exam.

SSC Stenographer Exam Pattern 2021
SSC Stenographer job will be conducted in two stages:
