Step 1: Attempt the Paper Cold
Solve the paper once before you study the matching topics. This gives you an honest baseline.
Step 2: Use the Right Time Limit
You have about 54 seconds per question. Keep a strict 90-minute limit.
Step 3: Calculate Your Net Score
Net score = Correct answers − (Wrong answers ÷ 3)
For example, 70 correct, 20 wrong and 10 skipped gives 70 − 6.67 = 63.33.
Step 4: Review Every Question
Review the questions you got right by guessing as well as the ones you got wrong.
Step 5: Keep an Error Log
For each mistake, write down the question topic, your answer, the correct answer and the reason. Revise this log every week.
Step 6: Solve It Again After Revision
Solve the same paper again after a few weeks. A rising score shows that your revision is working.
How Often Do Questions Repeat?
PSC papers are not copies of each other, but topics and concepts do repeat. When you solve several years of papers, you’ll see the same areas coming back, such as levelling, contouring, building materials tests, estimation methods and AutoCAD commands. Treat previous papers as a guide to what’s important, not a promise of what will appear.
