Assistant Manager Job Profile

The Assistant Manager will be responsible to look into the overall functioning of the bank and should handle all the responsibilities of the manager in his/her absence. The Assistant Branch Manager will assist the Manager in providing leadership to the bank through efficient daily operations in all areas of banking service.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Responsible for managing the operations segment of the branch including opening and closing activities.
• Supports the manager by ensuring all operational functions are completely and properly performed by the staff.
• Functions as dual custody for the cash vault, opening and closing the vault, maintaining control of all cash and negotiable instruments, verifies daily cash.
• Implementing sales and service standards through training, development and motivation of the staff.
• Assists in meeting sales goals by generating deposit accounts and cross selling Bank products.
• Monitors daily work assignments and looks into all operations entries.
• Reviews new accounts and activities and ensures that high risk accounts are identified and listed.
• Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for new and different requests.
• Identifies strategic goals by gathering pertinent business, financial, service, and operations information.
• Oversees banking services, especially customer service, to ensure excellence; contacts or assists customers and prospective customers.
• Supports staff results by communicating job expectations and planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
• Reviews and manages staffing procedures, ensuring that staff assignments and responsibilities are reasonable, and that salary structure is equitable.

Career Growth and Promotion

Assistant Manager can ascend to the role of Manager through internal promotion within the organization. Further advancement entails becoming a Senior Manager, contingent on having three years of service in the feeder category and based on seniority. The progression continues with promotion to Assistant General Manager, achieved by those who have held the position of Senior Manager for three years and on the basis of seniority. The hierarchy extends to Deputy General Manager, where individuals can be promoted from Assistant General Manager with three years of service in the feeder category or through direct recruitment by the PSC in a 1:1 ratio. General Manager status is then attained by promotion from Deputy General Managers, following three years of service in the feeder category. Finally, the highest echelon, Chief General Manager, involves a selection process from individuals holding the position of General Manager, necessitating three years of service in the feeder category.

Probation

The Assistant Manager will be on probation for one year after which his performance will be assessed. If the performance is satisfactory, he will be made permanent. The appointing authority may extend the period of probation for another two years to enable the appointing authority to decide whether the probationer is suitable for regularization or not. Once he/ she serves as the Assistant Manager for a certain number of years or if a vacancy arises, he will be promoted to the managerial post.

Kerala Bank Assistant Manager Salary

According to the notification released by the Kerala Public Service Commission, the salary for Kerala Bank Assistant Manager will be in the range of Rs. 24060 to Rs. 69610. Apart from this, the Assistant Manager will be eligible for all the allowances as approved by the government.

For example, if the basic pay is 24060, the total salary will be Rs. 44,756
