- 8 driver vacancies are reserved for Ex-Servicemen (2 in LVD-A and 6 in HVD-A).
- Of the 29 ESM-reserved vacancies, 24 are backlog vacancies. If suitable Ex-Servicemen are not found, they are filled by candidates of the identified vertical reservation category.
- For posts identified for the Master Control Facility (MCF), Hassan, 1 vacancy is reserved for an Ex-Serviceman (only in HVD-A).
- Ex-Servicemen must produce a Discharge Certificate showing ESM status at the skill test. Where their qualification differs from the one advertised, they also need an equivalency certificate from the competent authority.
Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD)
| Post | PwBD Vacancy |
|---|---|
| Electronics Mechanic (24 vacancies) | 2 for VH (including 1 backlog), 1 for OH, 1 backlog for ASD |
| Fitter (8 vacancies) | 1 for HH |

- Only persons with at least 40% of the relevant disability are eligible for reservation and relaxation.
- PwBD and Ex-Servicemen candidates can apply for posts suitable to them even if the post is not reserved for them, but they are selected on the general standard of merit.
- If a PwBD backlog vacancy cannot be filled by a suitable candidate, the department will try to fill it with a candidate having any other benchmark disability. So all PwBD candidates are encouraged to apply. If it is still unfilled, it goes to the identified vertical reservation category.
- Candidates appointed under PwBD and ESM quotas are adjusted against the respective SC/ST/OBC/EWS/UR category vacancies.
- Disability proof is a Certificate in the prescribed format (Annexure-B for single disability, Annexure-C for multiple disabilities) or a UDID card (Yellow Band for 40% to below 80%, Blue Band for 80% and above), issued by a Medical Board of at least three members.
