Kerala PSC LSGD Draftsman Grade 2 Mock Test 2026 Guidelines
Before the Test
- Finish at least some of the syllabus before starting full mocks. Take one diagnostic test early so you know your baseline.
- Sit at a desk in a quiet place, with rough paper and a pen ready.
- Set the timer to 90 minutes and don’t pause.
During the Test
- Do a first pass on questions you can answer quickly. Mark the others for review.
- Handle numericals carefully. Leave long calculations for the second pass.
- Respect negative marking. If you can’t narrow the options down, skip the question.
- Watch the clock. A useful split is about 60 to 65 minutes for the first pass, then the remaining time for marked questions and a final check.
After the Test
- Review every question, including the ones you got right by guessing.
- Note each mistake in your error log: topic, wrong answer, correct answer and the reason.
- Revise the weak topics before your next mock.
- Retake sectional tests for the subjects that pulled your score down.
How to Calculate Your Score
Net score = Correct answers − (Wrong answers ÷ 3)
| Correct | Wrong | Skipped | Net score |
|---|---|---|---|
| 70 | 20 | 10 | 70 − 6.67 = 63.33 |
| 75 | 15 | 10 | 75 − 5 = 70 |
| 80 | 12 | 8 | 80 − 4 = 76 |
Notice how a few fewer wrong answers can raise your score as much as a few more correct ones.
Kerala PSC LSGD Draftsman Grade 2 – Suggested Mock Test Schedule
| Stage | What to do |
|---|---|
| Early preparation | One full mock, then topic-wise quizzes after each topic |
| Mid preparation | One subject-wise test per subject after you finish it |
| Last 4 to 6 weeks | One full-length mock every 3 to 4 days |
| Final 2 weeks | Full mocks plus revision of your error log |
| Last 2 days | No new tests. Light revision only. |
Aim for a steady rise in your score over several tests, rather than a single big number.
Tips to Improve Your LSGD Draftsman Grade 2 Mock Test Score
- Strengthen high-priority subjects first. Surveying, Building Materials and Construction, and Building Drawing and Estimating are the high-priority subjects.
- Practise numericals regularly. Reduction of levels and estimation problems need daily practice.
- Don’t ignore AutoCAD. Learn the commands, toolbars and plotting settings. Questions here are easy marks with regular practice.
- Revise short notes between tests. Formulas, material properties and building rules are best learned by repeated review.
- Don’t memorise answers. Understand the concept so you can solve a different version of the same question.
