Kerala PSC LSGD Draftsman Grade 2 Vacancy 2026
The notification reports 1 (one) vacancy for SC/ST candidates, and the Commission has noted that it exists now.
The ranked list will also be used for:
- Further vacancies reported for Special Recruitment from SC/ST during the life of the list.
- Vacancies reported exclusively for Scheduled Tribes, if no separate ranked list is available or a separate ST-only selection is not under way.
- If the list has no ST candidate, a fresh ST-only notification will be issued for such vacancies.
So the single vacancy is not the whole opportunity. Candidates on the list can be advised against later vacancies too.
LSGD Draftsman Grade 2 Eligibility Criteria 2026
Age Limit
- Age: 18–45 years
- Date of birth: Only candidates born between 02.01.1981 and 01.01.2008 (both dates included) can apply.
- No other age relaxation is allowed.
- If no qualified candidates are available within the age limit, the upper age limit may be relaxed up to 50 years. It can never exceed 50 years in any case.
Educational Qualification
Candidates need (I) SSLC or equivalent and (II) any one of the qualifications below:
- Diploma in Civil Engineering (2-year course) of Women’s Polytechnic, or any qualification recognised by Government as equivalent.
- Group Certificate under KGTE/MGTE. It must include all four groups: Building Drawing, Building Construction, Survey and Irrigation.
- Pass in the following eight subjects under KGTE/MGTE:
- Surveying and Levelling (Higher)
- Applied Mechanics (Higher)
- Building Materials and Construction (Higher/Lower)
- Hydraulics and Irrigation (Higher)
- Building Drawing and Estimating (Higher)
- Earthwork and Road Making (Higher)
- Geometrical Drawing (Lower)
- Mensuration (Lower)
- National Apprenticeship Certificate (Surveyor) or (Civil)
- National Trade Certificate (Surveyor) or (Draftsman Civil)
- State Trade Certificate (Surveyor) or (Draftsman Civil)
- VHSE pass in Draftsmanship in Building Technology, or Quantity Surveying and Surveying
Equivalent/higher qualifications: Qualifications declared equivalent by Government orders, or higher qualifications that presuppose the prescribed lower qualification, are also acceptable under Rule 10(a)(ii) of Part II of KS & SSR. Keep a copy of the relevant Government Order ready, as the Commission can ask for it. Degrees and diplomas from UGC-approved universities, or institutions established by an Act of Parliament or State Legislature, are acceptable as per G.O.(M.S) No. 526/PD dated 17.07.1965.
Community
Only Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe candidates of Kerala can apply. If the caste or community in your application differs from your SSLC book, you must produce a Gazette Notification along with the Community Certificate at certificate verification.

Join NowLSGD Draftsman Grade 2 Selection Process 2026
Appointment is by Direct Recruitment (Special Recruitment for SC/ST) and is made on rank from the ranked list published by Kerala PSC, subject to the special reservation orders and to Rules 3(C), 17(A) and 17(B) of Part II of the KS & SSR, 1958.
The notification does not fix the stages of selection. If a written, OMR or online test is held, you must submit a confirmation through your OTR profile within the stipulated period. Only then can you download your Admission Ticket, in the last 15 days before the test. Applications without confirmation are rejected absolutely. The exact period will be published in the exam programme and sent to your profile and registered mobile number.
If you receive a profile message asking for documents, upload them within the stipulated time, or you will not be considered for the next stage.
How to Apply Online for Kerala PSC LSGD Draftsman Grade 2 2026
There is no application fee. Follow these steps:
- Go to the official Kerala PSC website, www.keralapsc.gov.in.
- New users: Complete One Time Registration (OTR) and create your profile. Existing users: Log in with your User ID and Password.
- Find Category No. 156/2026 (Draftsman Grade II / Town Planning Surveyor Grade II, LSGD) in the notification list.
- Click “Apply Now”.
- Check every detail in your profile, then submit.
- Take a printout or save a soft copy from “My Applications” in your profile.
Important points to remember:
- Do not create multiple profiles. It can lead to forfeiture of your candidature.
- Photograph: New profiles need a photo taken within the last 6 months, with your name and the date of the photo printed legibly at the bottom. A valid photo stays valid for 10 years.
- Aadhaar: If you have an Aadhaar card, add it as ID proof in your profile.
- An application cannot be altered or deleted after submission, so verify before you submit.
- Quote your User ID in all communication with the Commission, and attach the application printout.

LSGD Draftsman Grade 2 Validity of the Ranked List
The ranked list will remain in force for a minimum of 1 year and a maximum of 3 years. It will not continue after the first year if a new list for the same post, under the same method of appointment, is published.
LSGD Draftsman Grade 2 Probation Period
Every appointee is on probation for 2 years on duty within a continuous period of 3 years, from the date of joining.
LSGD Draftsman Grade 2 Salary 2026
The scale of pay for the post is ₹31,100 – ₹66,800. This is the basic pay scale. Allowances such as DA and HRA are paid on top as per government rules.
