Salary and Allowances
RRB NTPC pay follows the 7th CPC pay matrix. Starting basic pay is ₹19,900 at Level 2, ₹21,700 at Level 3, ₹29,200 at Level 5 and ₹35,400 at Level 6. Dearness Allowance is 60% from January 2026.
On top of basic pay and DA, employees receive:
- House Rent Allowance (HRA): depends on the posting city class (X, Y or Z)
- Transport Allowance: also linked to city class
- Other benefits: railway pass facility, medical care, provident fund and pension under NPS
Because HRA and Transport Allowance depend on the city, two employees with the same basic pay can take home different amounts.
