TNPSC Group 2A 2026: Selection Process 2026 – Stages

Selection for Group IIA posts follows three stages:

1. Preliminary Examination – A qualifying, screening-level objective exam (Code 495) shared with Group II candidates.
2. Main Examination – A dedicated objective exam for Group IIA posts (Code 583) that carries the actual weightage for merit ranking.
3. Certificate Verification / Document Verification – For candidates shortlisted based on Mains performance, followed by final selection.

Candidates (unless exempted) must also clear the Compulsory Tamil Language Eligibility Test, which is qualifying in nature. Its syllabus includes:
