In the year 2013, the United Nations realised the importance of crops. With their resolution A/RES/68/231, they announced 2016 to be the International Year of Pulses. Then, in 2019, they decided to make World Pulses Day a day dedicated to pulses in order to raise awareness and provide global access to pulses. By 2050, the United Nations intends to increase the amount of pulses grown.
