Kerala PSC Range Forest Officer Syllabus

Applications are invited online only by Kerala PSC from qualified candidates holding a degree in Science or Engineering for the post of Range Forest Officer. The selected candidates has to undergo Range Forest Officer Course in any one of the Institution under the Director of Forestry Education, Government of India for a period as prescribed by the Government of India from time to time and one year practical training in the department. Eligibility Criteria required for Range Forest Officer

Range Forest Officer job is very challenging as the candidates will be in charge of forest and wildlife. Hence candidates are required to be physically and mentally fit for this post. Below we have mentioned the eligibility criteria required by the candidates applying for the exam.

1. Educational Qualification:

Candidates must possess a Degree in Science or Engineering from a University, Institution or Deemed University recognized by Government of India or Government of Kerala with at least one of the following subjects- Agriculture, Botany, Chemistry, Computer Application/Computer Science, Engineering (Agricultural/ Chemical/ Civil/ Computer/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Mechanical), Environmental Science, Forestry, Geology, Horticulture, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Veterinary Science, Zoology.

2. Physical Qualification

Candidates applying for Range forest officer post must meet the below mentioned physical standards.

• Minimum height and chest measurement for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates shall be relaxed by 5 cm and 2.5 cm respectively.
• Physical measurement will be taken by the Commission prior to the walking test and medical standard test.
• Screening test will be conducted as the first stage of selection for this post. The selection will be finalized by conducting Physical measurement, Walking Test, Descriptive Test & Interview.

Syllabus for Range Forest Officer

Candidates will have 3 papers in total. Paper 1 and paper 2 is common and compulsory for all. However, for Paper 3 candidates can choose any two optional subjects. Kerala PSC has invited application from qualified Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates of Kerala recently. Syllabus & exam pattern for the same is given below.

Optional Subject:

Agriculture, Botany, Environmental Science, Forestry, Geology, Horticulture, Mathematics, Statistics, Veterinary Science, Zoology

(i) Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering and Veterinary Science.

(ii) Chemistry and Chemical Engineering.

(iii) Computer Application/Computer Science and Computer Engineering.

(iv) Electrical Engineering and Electronics Engineering.

(v) Mathematics and Statistics.

Note:- Optional subjects selected for examination should be specifically noted on the application, if not, the application will be rejected. Also no candidate shall be allowed to take more than one subject of the above mentioned groups.
