Kerala PSC UP Teacher Eligibility Criteria 2024

Age Limit

• 18 – 40 Years
• Only candidates born between 02.01.1983 and 01.01.2005 (both dates included) are eligible to apply for this post.
• Other Backward Communities and SC/ST candidates are eligible for usual age relaxation.
• For concessions allowed in upper age limit, subject to the condition that the maximum age limit shall in no case exceed 50 years of age.

Educational Qualification

A pass in the SSLC examination conducted by the Commissioner for Government Examinations in Kerala, or an equivalent qualification.

OR

A pass in the Pre-degree examination conducted by any of Kerala’s universities or any other university examination regarded as comparable to a pre-degree by any of Kerala’s universities examination.

OR

A pass in the Higher Secondary Examination administered by the Board of Higher Secondary Education

OR

Kerala Examinations or any other examinations recognized by the government as equivalent thereto.

OR

Passing the TTC Examination administered by the Commissioner for Government Kerala examinations.

OR

A degree in any discipline, as well as a B.Ed/B.T/LT degree given or recognized by universities in Kerala.

Points to be Noted

• The Degrees/Diplomas awarded by UGC approved Universities or Institutions established through an act passed by Parliament/State Legislative Assembly in accordance with the conditions laid down in G.O(M.S)No.526/PD dated 17.07.1965 are acceptable for appointment in Government Services.
• As per G.O(RT) No.3280/13/G.Edn. Dated 05.08.13, the TTC qualification has been renamed as D.Ed(Diploma in Teacher Education) and subsequently as per G.O(RT)No.1700/18/G.Edn.dated 05.05.18 and G.O(RT)No.2009/18/G.Edn dated 30.5.18 again renamed as D.El.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education) The candidates who possess D.Ed/D El.Ed qualification shall also be considered for the selection.
• Must have passed the Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (K-TET) for this post conducted by the Government of Kerala

Exemption

• Candidates who have qualified CTET/NET/SET/M.Phil/Ph.D in the respective subject/M.Ed in any subject are exempted from acquiring TET (G.O.(P) No. 145/16/G.Edn. Dated 30.08.16, G.O.(P)No.206/16/ G.Edn.Dated 08.12.2016 and G.O(P)No.15/2020/G.Edn Dated 09.10.20).
• As per the conditions laid down in Government Circular No. 1866829/J3/2017/G. Edn. Dated 09.03.2018 those who passes CTET primary stage and CTET Elementary stage were excluded from KTET Cat. I & KTET Cat. II respectively. Also CTET qualification can’t be considered as an alternative qualification for KTET Cat. III and Cat. IV.

Points to be Consider

• M.Phil in the concerned subject be the one awarded by any of the Universities in Kerala or recognised as equivalent by any of the Universities in Kerala.
• Candidates who have not studied the Regional Language Malayalam either under Part-I or Part-II or as medium of instruction for SSLC will not be eligible for appointment to the post.[G.O(RT) No. 534/2002/G.Edn dated 19.03.2002, G.O(MS) No.44/75/G.Edn. Dated 29.01.1975, GO(MS)No.19/2023/G.Edn dated 24.02.2023].
• All degrees including B.Tech,BCA which are fixed as a criteria for B.Ed admission conferred or recognised by the Universities in Kerala are also considered as academic qualification for this post.
• If there is a written (Descriptive /OMR) test the Question paper for the written test will be in Malayalam. Candidate should answer the questions in Malayalam.
• In the case of OMR answer script, answers are to be marked as instructed.
• KS & SSR part II Rule 10 a (ii) is applicable for selection to this post.
• In addition to the qualification prescribed in the notification, the qualifications recognized by executive orders or standing orders of Government as equivalent to a qualification specified for a post, in the Special Rules and such of those qualifications which pre-suppose the acquisition of the lower qualification prescribed for the post, shall also be sufficient for the post. The copy of the Government orders declaring equivalent/higher qualifications shall be produced as and when required by the Commission.

Kerala PSC UP Teacher Recruitment 2024: Application Guidelines

• If written /OMR/Online Test is conducted as part of this selection, candidates shall submit a confirmation for writing the examination through their One Time Registration profile. Such candidates alone can generate and download the Admission Tickets in the last  15 days till the date of Test. The applications of candidates who do not submit confirmation within the stipulated period, will be rejected absolutely. The periods regarding the submission of confirmation and the availability of Admission Tickets will be published in the Examination Calendar itself. Information in this regard will be given to the candidates in their respective profiles and in the mobile phone numbers registered in it.
• In the case of difference in Caste/Community claimed in the application and that entered in SSLC Book the candidate shall produce a gazette notification in this regard, along with Noncreamy layer certificate/Community certificate at the time of certificate verification.
• Candidates are required to acquaint themselves with the instructions given in the notification as Part II, General Conditions before submitting application for the post. Applications which are not submitted in accordance with the terms and conditions laid down in the General Conditions are liable to be rejected.
• Appropriate disciplinary action as per Rule 22 of the Kerala Public Service Commission Rules of Procedure 1976, shall be initiated against those candidates who submit applications with bogus claims of qualification regarding education, experience etc. and are liable to be disqualified for being considered for a particular post or debarment from applying to the Commission either permanently or for any period or the invalidation of their answer scripts or products in a written / practical test or the initiation of criminal or other proceedings against them or their removal or dismissal from office or the ordering of any other disciplinary action against them if they have already been appointed, or any one or more of the above.

• The photo to be uploaded can be in Color/ black and white.
• The face and shoulder of the candidate should be clearly visible
• Photo should be of 200 pixels height and 150 pixels width
• The file size should not exceed 30kb and it should be in JPG format
• The background of the photo should be either light-colored or white in color
• The eyes should be open
• Face should be centrally focused
• Photograph wearing cap goggles, (except cap, veil worn in adherence to religious custom), photographs showing a portion of the face, photo with unclear face shall not be accepted.
