Attempt CFTRI Technician Mock Test 2026! You have the books and the notes. Now you need to find out how you actually perform under exam conditions. That is what a mock test does.
CSIR-CFTRI, Mysuru has announced 28 Technician (1) vacancies across 13 ITI trades (Advertisement No. Rec.02/2026). The written exam follows a Trade Test and has three papers with negative marking in two of them. Mock tests on the Entri App let you practise the same structure, marking scheme and time pressure before the real thing.
Why Mock Tests Matter for CFTRI Technician
Three features of this exam make mock tests essential:
- Very tight clock in Paper II. General Awareness and English together have 50 questions in 30 minutes, roughly 36 seconds per question. That speed only comes from practice.
- Negative marking. In Papers II and III, each wrong answer costs 1 mark against 3 marks for a right one. You must learn when to answer and when to skip.
- Paper I cut-off. Paper I is qualifying only, but Papers II and III are evaluated only if you clear its cut-off. A mock test shows whether you are safe.
Mock tests also build exam-hall stamina: concentrating for 2 hours 30 minutes straight.
CSIR CFTRI Technician 2026 Exam Pattern Your Mock Should Copy

- Questions in English and Hindi (except the English language section).
- Final merit = Paper II + Paper III (300 marks). Paper I is qualifying.
- The Trade Test comes before the written exam and is qualifying. The exam date and cut-off marks have not been announced yet, so check https://www.cftri.res.in.

- Classify every wrong or skipped question:
- Concept gap: you did not know it → revise the topic
- Silly mistake: you knew it but misread → slow down, underline key words
- Time pressure: you ran out of time → practise speed
- Wrong guess: you gambled and lost → apply elimination
- Write an error notebook: question, correct answer, why you missed it.
- Re-attempt the wrong questions after a week.
- Compare attempts: accuracy %, attempts per section, time per section.

Mistakes to Avoid While Taking CSIR CFTRI Mock Test 2026
- Taking mocks without a timer. It defeats the purpose.
- Not analysing results. A score without review teaches little.
- Guessing blindly in Papers II and III. Use elimination.
- Starting mocks too late. Begin sectional tests by week 3.
- Chasing only your Paper I score. Merit comes from Papers II and III.
- Ignoring your trade tests. Paper III is 150 of 300 merit marks.
- Comparing your score with others’ unofficial claims. Use your own trend.
Books and notes build knowledge, but mock tests build marks. With the tight 30-minute Paper II, the negative marking in Papers II and III, and the Paper I cut-off, practising under real conditions is what separates a selection from a near miss. Start with sectional tests, move to full-length mocks, and analyse every attempt.
