Kerala PSC Exam: SSLC (10th) Level
Recently PSC has decided to conduct a single level test for all posts with Matriculation as the essential eligibility criteria. These posts are LGS, Office Attendant, Secretariat Office Attendant, LD Clerk, etc. Let’s have a quick look at some of these posts and their eligibility criteria.

Last Grade Servant (LGS)
Candidates should have passed the 07th standard and should not possess any degree/ graduation. Even though it is 7th level post , Preliminary examination will be conducted along with tenth level posts. Candidates studying in the final year/ semester of graduation degree are also eligible; given that they should not possess the degree before the last date for application. Candidates age shall be between 18 years to 36 years. The posts included in LGS recruitment is:
- Matron, Balamandir Kozhikkode
- Watch women in the welfare institution under the Social Justice Department.
- Cleaner and Sewer cleaner in the public Works Department.
- Gatekeeper Gr.II and Lascar Gr.II in the printing Department
- Watchman, Watcher, and Chowkidar
- Cleaner cum conductor
- Cleaner (Boat cleaner, Tractor Cleaner, Van cleaner, Lorry cleaner, Ambulance cleaner)
- Watcher /Night Watcher / Watchman/ Night Watchman 2. Marker (Technical Education &Medical Education)
- Regular Marker (Animal Husbandry Department)

Clerk-Typist
Candidates should have passed in SSLC or its equivalent qualification. Lower Grade Certificate in KGTE Malayalam Typewriting or its equivalent. Lower Grade Certificate in KGTE English Typewriting and Computer Word Processing or
its equivalent. Candidates age shall be between 18 years – 41 years.

Typist
Candidates should have passed in SSLC or its equivalent qualification. Over the SSLC, candidates should have the following qualifications:
- Typewriting Malayalam (Lower) in KGTE
- Typewriting English (Lower) Certificate (KGTE/MGTE) or its equivalent qualification
- 6 months certificate in MS Office and DTP (English & Malayalam) from a recognized institution.
Age Limit: Candidates age shall be between 18 years and 36 years.

Stenographer
Candidates should have passed in SSLC or its equivalent qualification. Over the SSLC, candidates should have the following qualifications:
- Typewriting Malayalam (Lower) KGTE or it’s equivalent.
- Higher Grade Certificate in Typewriting English (KGTE) and Computer Word Processing or it’s equivalent.
- Lower Grade Certificate in Short Hand English (KGTE) or it’s equivalent.
Age Limit: Candidates age shall be between 18 years and 36 years.

Lower Division Clerk
Candidates should have passed in SSLC or its equivalent qualification.
Age Limit: Candidates age shall be between 18 years-39 years.

Kerala PSC Exam: HSE (Plus Two) Level

Women Police Constable
Candidates should have passed HSE (Plus 2) or its equivalent. Those who have failed in HSE (Plus 2) examination shall also be considered if a sufficient number of qualified candidates are not available to fill up the quota.
Age Limit: Candidates age shall be between 18 years- 31 years

Computer Assistant Grade-II
Candidates should have passed HSE (Plus 2) or its equivalent. Along with HSE, candidates should have:
- Higher Grade Certificate in Typewriting English (KGTE) and Computer Word Processing or its equivalent.
- Lower Grade Certificate in Typewriting Malayalam (KGTE) or it’s equivalent.
Age Limit: Candidates age shall be between 18 years- 36 years

Confidential Assistant Grade II
Candidates should have passed HSE (Plus 2) or its equivalent. Along with HSE, candidates should have:
- Lower Grade Certificate in Typewriting English (KGTE) and Computer Word Processing or it’s equivalent.
- Lower Grade Certificate in Shorthand Malayalam (KGTE) or it’s equivalent.
- Certificates obtained from Central and State Governments or Agencies or Societies or Universities after a course having a minimum period of 3 months shall alone be considered as an equivalent qualification for Computer Word Processing.
- Lower Grade Certificate in Typewriting Malayalam (KGTE) or it’s equivalent.
- Lower Grade Certificate in Shorthand English (KGTE) or it’s equivalent.
Age Limit: Candidates age shall be between 18 years- 41 years

Police Constable
Candidates should have passed HSE (Plus 2) or its equivalent.
Age Limit: Candidates age shall be between 18 years- 26 years

Meter Reader
Diploma in Craftsmanship or Trade Certificate in Plumbing Trade of Industrial Training Institutes/
Industrial Training Centre. OR
National Apprenticeship Certificate in Plumbing Trade awarded after Completion of full-term
apprenticeship for a minimum period of three years. OR
Minimum general educational qualification of the SSLC standard with practical experience in
reading water meters as certified by an officer, not below the rank of Executive Engineer in charge of WaterWorks Unit

Typist Clerk
Candidates should have passed HSE (Plus 2) or its equivalent. Along with HSE, candidates should have:
- Typewriting and Word Processing English (Higher) OR
- Diploma in Commercial Practice Typewriting Malayalam (Higher).
