The selected candidates have to undergo Range Forest Officer Course in any one of the Institution under the Director of Forestry Education, Government of India for a period as prescribed by the Government of India from time to time  and also one year practical training in the department. Kerala PSC Range Forest Officer 2023: Overview

Selection Process for Range Forest Officer

Selection process involves following steps-

• Written Test
• Walking Test
• Interview

Kerala PSC Range Forest Officer: Written Test

Candidate will have to appear for a written examination to be conducted by Kerala Public Service Commission that comprises of  Paper- I General Knowledge and paper-II English (Essay and Precise writing etc) with 100 marks each. Both Paper-I & Paper–II  are compulsory for all candidates appearing for the exam.Whereas Paper –III is optional subject where candidate must select any two subjects of 200 marks each. Optional subject includes-Agriculture, Botany, Chemistry, Computer Application/Computer Science, Engineering (Agriculture/ Chemical/ Civil/ Computer/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Mechanical) Environmental Science, Forestry, Geology, Horticulture, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Veterinary Science, Zoology.

Kerala PSC Range Forest Officer: Walking Test

Male candidates must clear the walking test conducted by the Kerala Public Service Commission by covering a distance of 25 kilometres within four hours on foot and women candidates must cover 16 kms on foot within 4 hours. This test will be arranged only for those candidates who passed  the written examination.

Kerala PSC Range Forest Officer: Interview

Candidates qualified in the written examination will be called for an interview conducted by Kerala Public Service Commission.
